Footage from a cancelled Streets of Rage reboot has surfaced thanks to the prying hands of the internet.

The video shows the 3D re-imagining, which was being developed by Crackdown developer Ruffian games before being canned.

According to the video’s description, the game was supposed to be a downloadable title for consoles.

There are no details on why the game was cancelled, and it’s a shame, because it looks incredible fun. We’ve listed a bunch of games that were cancelled, but should be made.

The original Streets of Rage eventually made its way to XBLA and Steam, with PS3 gamers still holding out for the old-school beat-‘em-up.
