SA pro gaming star signed to CoolerMaster sponsorship

Pro StarCraft II player Robert “PandaTank” Botha has secured sponsorship from CM Storm

CoolerMaster has announced that SA professional gaming star Robert “PandaTank” Botha is joining the CM Storm roster. Botha is among the top StarCraft II players worldwide.

PandaTank represented South Africa in the leSF World Championships 2011 and 2012, Blizzard WCS European combined nationals 2012, and ESWC 2012.

“Cooler Master and CM Storm has shown a constantly growing interest and involvement in the e-Sports community over the last few years in terms of creating quality gaming peripherals, sponsoring teams all around the world, sponsoring major leagues such as the NASL, and even hosting their own tournaments. This kind of growth and commitment shows that Cooler Master and CM Storm are not going anywhere and are here to stay,” said Botha in a press statement.

“It brings great peace of mind to me as a full time player to know that I am able to represent and be supported by such prominent member of the e-Sports community. My goal for 2013 is to use this support to grow and develop into one of the top StarCraft II players that can bring home results from major international tournaments that myself, my fans, Cooler Master and CM Storm can all be proud of. I urge all of my fans to follow, support and give thanks to Cooler Master and CM Storm for giving me this awesome opportunity to not only pursue my dream but to also put South African e-Sports on the map,” said Botha.

CoolerMaster said in a press statement that “[Botha] has shown incredible drive and commitment to make it to the top. He has trained extensively in the US in recent months and shown impressive improvements, and we are thrilled to enable him to join more international tournaments and climb up the ranks even further. At the same time he will help us fine tune our CM Storm gaming keyboards, mice and headsets and get involved in the development process of upcoming gaming gear.”

CM Storm has been involved in gaming and eSports for years, with over a dozen teams sponsored worldwide, and is looking to expand its involvement in the community. Cooler Master’s gaming division now features a large lineup of mechanical keyboards, mice, headsets, mouse pads, PC cases and accessories which are being developed and refined with feedback from sponsored players and customers.
