Battlefield 4 Shanghai setting confirmed

Iconic Chinese city will be a new battleground for DICE’s upcoming sequel

Battlefield 4

Following on from the rumours that a portion of Battlefield 4 will take place in China, the city of Shanghai will appear to be one of the core locations in the game.

A Battlefield 4 teaser site went up, showing artwork that showcases the familiar Shanghai skyline.

This ties in with the rumours that the game will be set in China in 2020, with the US and China as the main rivalling infantry factions.

Previous rumours suggest that, according to a forum member on the Chiphell forums, Battlefield 4 will feature the Frostbite 2.5 engine, which will result in even greater visuals and improved destruction using the Destruction 4.0 system. Tessellation technology will also allow for much more realistic water and terrain effects.
