Fez 2 announced
We’re in for another dose of mind-boggling platforming puzzles as Fez returns
At the end of the Horizon indie summit at E3, Polytron Corporation, developer of Fez fame announced – you guessed it – Fez 2.
There is precious little to go on at this stage, as no platforms or release date have been revealed.
One thing we do know is that the fantastic musical compositions of Disasterpeace will once again accompany the game.
The first Fez was a platforming puzzle game that brilliantly showcased what appeared to be a flat 2D world, that players were able to manipulate in a horizontal 3D plane, rotating the game world to solve puzzles.
The joyfully detailed pixel-art, compelling puzzles, and striking soundtrack made Fez one of the best games of 2012. Quinton thought it was a cracker when he reviewed Fez on Xbox 360, saying:
Fez is just one of those games – and I hate to use this expression – that needs to be “experienced” more than played.
There’s nothing here that it expressly challenging or daunting – but at the same time, it’s probably more memorable that the countless shooters out there.
I had to wait a year to finally have the chance to play it on PC, and after hearing so much praise for the game, it didn’t disappoint. Check out the Fez 2 teaser video below:
