Expected more other games in there, but Starcraft seems to dominate.

Flash should be number one as @mbCARMAC noted. They counted the car Fatal1ty won as $40,000 cash.

Dude there are dedicated TV channels that stream StarCraft games. Imagine seeing that on SABC 3.

What about Dota2? Surely with The International, DreamHack, and all the other large scale tournaments there should be someone in the top 5?

I wonder if the name typo’s were intentional or not :p

Yes and the problem with that is ? Its a $40000 Ferrari that he didn’t have they call it assets. Its worth more than $40000 as it was John Carmack’s car before then. That car is priceless and collectors will pay over $1000000 for it.

It was the world biggest prize ever for gaming back then there was no tournaments in the world that gave cash prizes back then that only came later.

Nope Na`vi’s Puppey, Xboct and Dendi have the most but they only come in @ $274,583.79

Anyone else realized that they used the a photo of July for MC?

  • Johan du Preez

Might be because Dota 2 only came out of beta last week.

He was also world champion in Painkiller iirc.

I’m not saying Fatal1ty wasn’t a good Quake player, just that there are some misreporting from the source.

Yeah, the Painkiller tournament back then had a prize pool of $500,000. Insane!

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying steamed Dota 2 matches – nice to put on in the background while doing chores around the house. Sometimes the matches are really gripping!

  • Dylan Heunis

Flash and Jaedong were both very good at StarCraft: Brood “Wars”!

  • Rynier G Schoeman

Last year during the international we had a casual lan / Braai at a mates house. And we streamed the starcraft on a wall next to the braai and the room we lanned in. Was extremely fun tbh.

  • Pur!Fier

I actually heard on the streams the other day that Flash actually has made more money from his wages, than from his winnings. That’s just insane
