DICE and EA have revealed that players who purchase current-gen version of Battlefield 4 and wish to upgrade to the next-gen version will only pay £10 (R156*).

“Inside marked physical copies of Battlefield 4 for PlayStation 3 there will be a voucher with a unique code printed on it. This code will allow you the one-time offer of buying a digital version of Battlefield 4 via the PlayStation Store for only £10,” explained a post on the EU Playstation community page.

The discounted upgrade feature from current-gen to next-gen titles was originally announced by Sony president Andrew House during the Gamescom keynote presentation.

DICE has also announced that the open beta for Battlefield 4 will begin on 1 October for 360, PS3 and PC. It features Conquest mode on the Siege of Shanghai map.

DICE also revealed that Battlefield 4 will be featuring a test range for players who are a bit hesitant with vehicles, to have a fly or drive around, before heading into a real battle and turning your whole squad into a kamikaze-package.
