With the announcement of PS Vita TV, MyGaming caught up with Ster Kinekor Entertainment CEO Mario dos Santos to find out if there was any desire to get the device into South Africa.
PS Vita TV is a new console for use in your home that plugs into your TV and gives access to video content and games services, as well as being able to stream to smart TVs across your home. It is capable of playing PS Vita game cards and can stream games running on the PS4 to another TV across our home network.
“We always want to make sure that there’s any new platform or device available, but with no formal announcement for territories outside of Asia, it’s hard to tell. But I would expect it to become available when the European markets get it too,” said Dos Santos.
The availability of the new PS Vita model in SA is also “a little more complex” due to the international release date still being unconfirmed.
“There’s still no formal announcement for our territory, but my personal view is that it will come at some point, but we’ll still await that formal announcement.”
Sony says the PS Vita TV will make its debut in Japan on 14 November at a price equivalent to US$95. The console is not expected to be released anywhere else in the world for some time.
