The Evil Within launch date revealed

Shinji Mikami’s next survival-horror outing is one step closer to making your nightmares come true.

Upcoming survival horror game The Evil Within has been given a launch date of 29 August 2014, and it’ll be scaring the microchips out of pretty much every platform – Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, and Windows PC.

The Evil Within comes from legendary game director, Shinji Mikami of Resident Evil and Devil May Cry fame, working with his team at Tango Gameworks, and published by Bethesda.

The Evil Within promises pure survival horror, detailed environments, horrifying anxiety, and an intricate story. You know the horrifying drill – with limited resources at your disposal you’ll fight for survival in a blend of horror and action sequences.

While investigating the scene of a gruesome mass murder, Detective Sebastian Castellanos and his partners encounter a mysterious and powerful force. After seeing the slaughter of fellow officers, Sebastian is ambushed and knocked unconscious. When he awakens, he finds himself in a deranged world where hideous creatures wander among the dead. Facing unimaginable terror, and fighting for survival, Sebastian embarks on a frightening journey to unravel what’s behind this evil force.
