Quadcopter Part 3 - retest and reassess

Rate this Entry
We tested the quad again after fitting the replacement ESC. Reprogrammed all the ESC's to sync properly with the controller, and gave it another test. Only to fly into a wall and break a rotor blade.

One trip to the local shop, we returned with 4 x carbon fibre blades...and a new confidence in the strength of them. The price of them gives you that confidence.

A quick flight later and one of them broke, amongst tons of swearing and cursing.

The next step is to build a damn protective frame for the copter, its just too susceptible to damage. And we're taking a break, lol

That looks like a tough challenge. I wonder how that thing will fly being so light...

Hmm, you may be right actually. We've been flying it a few times and its actually insanely powerful, maybe too powerful come to think of it. Can just take off way too easily. Perhaps to start with we'll weight it down.

It will be interesting if you could compare the control, speed etc of the new and old versions, or using different weights.
