The Crew

You should only measure the actual game data not youtube vids as well lol

Anyway I asked a mate of mine to check the exact amount of data he used last night and it was 878MB for a 4 hour session on PC.

Just under 4MBs per minute - that doesn't seem too bad. It's less than a YT video in 720p (I think).

Yeah it isn't bad considering the game is a huge and ever evolving open world.
Apparently it can be played offline but then I don't think its meant to be played offline.

Sorry, not like I could split it.

Yeah, the "loading" or "downloading" while in game is apparent. Still, not too bad actually.

Yeah I am tempted to buy it...I've been wanting a decent nfs racing game for a while now...but meh I just don't know if Ubisoft deserves my cash. I'll play it at my buddies house tonight and decide.

I know how you feel, that's why I got it on console. I would rather suffer the 30fps than deal with farking Uplay system. But actually quite a solid game thus far. I had one disconnect last night, but I think that's because I had Minecraft updating in the background. Later I had another disconnect and couldn't reconnect, but it was bedtime after all :P
I'm sure this could be brought down to release teething issues, as with any online based game. I'm sure it will resolve itself and/or be patched or fixed.

I won't spend more than 2 hours in a session. I lose interest in any game if I play for too long a session. Regular breaks are a must.

So far, I think my decision is made - seen many vids on YT that are more than convincing enough for me to want to own this game. Giant open world and car modification (to almost your heart's content). This is what I wanted Criterion's version Need for Speed: Most Wanted to be - this is exactly the type of racing/car game I've been wanting for years!

Edit: From a graphical point of view; this isn't MW (2012) Forza Horizon 2 (still the most detailed racing games I've seen). This is not Ryse, nor is it Crysis, but, for what it's worth it looks good - not great - good.

Think I might also just settle and buy it today or tomorrow. Still just want to see if they will do anything to add more cars.

Played a little bit more early this morning and it's pretty damn awesome. It definitely reminds me of the older NFS titles and Midnight Club LA, which is awesome. I think the different specs for the cars is gonna be a lot of fun, did one dirt and one raid event and they were both a lot of fun. I still want to drive from one end of the map to the other to see how long it will take, but I will leave that untill I have a faster car. The game world really is massive and there is a ton of little challenges scattered all over it yet. Haven't tried any MP yet, but so far the SP is quite enjoyable, despite the fact that you have to be online and that the story is kind of terrible (which I expected).

I tried this is in the beta, took me about 40-45min from East to West. And that's full throttle and a few traffic prangs.

Neither have I, but looked at some of them from the map view, and they're recommended to take ~1hour.
Would hate for my connection to drop toward the end of that mission.

Awesome. I will definitely drive from Miami to LA at some point just for the sake of doing it.

I saw you invited me to a crew last night but nothing happened when I accepted. It must be the crappy connection I am currently using.

I hope that if I get this game that I will have some community members on the PC version. Would like to be a part of a local crew.

Yeah, I think you and Dragonic are the only two on PC.

Wlad and I are on PS4.

Edit: Any chance moving this to General Gaming ?

Reminds me of the millionaires challenge in Test Drive Unlimited where you had to lap the island in under an hour to win.

So guys after a week, what is the feels like?
I said I would buy it today but was way too busy, which is good coz I'm still somewhat on the sidelines for some reason(I think it's the low car count)

I'm enjoying it, only now really after about 4+ hours. It's one of those games that you just loaf on the couch and drive around. Don't expect much depth in the story or anything.

I think I'm going to buy FC4 instead. Right now, I think it'll be more value for my money. Will buy TC at a later stage.

Would be happy to join a PC-player SA based crew, when I'm able to play. Game time been seriously hampered by first a fire in our streets' electrical distribution box, and now the dreaded load shedding that seems to be perfectly timed every evening I have had available for the last few days. Not sure how UPlay or The Crew invites work, but I use the same name there (GregRedd).
