R998pm for a 40gb cap+80gb after hours.

Madness.

Maybe if you add another zero to those caps, then it will be value for money for sure

Doesn't seem that expensive to me - especially since this is cutting edge tech for SA residential. A nice ADSL setup is well over a grand anyway.

I refuse to live in an overpriced mud hut, so no. :D

My point is that the pricing isn't all that different from ADSL which is surprising given that it's newer tech and should be more stable. If you just want to download raw quantity at the lowest price then a cheap & nasty ADSL package is better.

I also don't get how people say this is expensive....

We pay something like R12,000 per month at work for a 100MB point to point fibre line.... How is upgrading my house from 10 Meg to 100Meg FIBRE for R400 extra expensive?

Also, why all of a sudden do you need a 1.2 Terabyte cap? I can stay on my 100GB account and have blazing speeds for a tiny buit more...

Also, my rule is: If broadband speed X is too expensive for you, you don't really need it.

Also, consider that you can drop the Telkom line and Circuit price... then this is not that much!!!
