All-female 'Ghostbusters' cast chosen

Really? Before any feminists get their panties all puckered up and hurling stones. I have nothing against women playing any kind of roll. (Aliens is one of my fav movie franchises, Sigourney is awesome in it. Same with other movies where women play strong or action roles, SALT, etc.) But this? Looks like the original cast isnt interested and of course with Harold Ramis passing away, thats not an option.

Guess Ghostbusters is just one of those movies that I dont want to see turned to poo.

Still, dont want to judge a movie thats not even filmed yet, just...meh

(The Hollywood Reporter)The all-new, all-female Ghostsbusters are here.

Melissa McCarthy, who was already in talks for one of the leads, has signed on for the Paul Feig-directed reboot, and the studio is now negotiating with Kristen Wiig, as well as "Saturday Night Live" players Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Negotiations are ongoing but the quartet are expected to sign on as the specter-seeking, poltergeist-punishing and phantom-phollowing foursome in the reboot, which is eyeing a summer shoot in New York.

McCarthy and Wiig have worked with Feig before, both breaking out with the director's "Bridesmaids" comedy.

Female Ghostbusters? Why Studios Want More Women-Led Blockbusters

Jones, who is currently on screen in Chris Rock's "Top Five," joined SNL early last year and this fall was promoted to feature player status.

McKinnon has been on "SNL" since 2012 and last year was nominated for an Emmy for her work.

The "Ghostbusters" reboot has seen a long development process. Original director Ivan Reitman was on board to return, but while original castmembers Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson had agreed to reprise their characters, Bill Murray proved elusive. Then Reitman bowed out of the project when Ramis passed away last year.

Feig was then approached to direct and reconceived the project as a reboot starring an all-female cast.

Wiig is repped by UTA, Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment and Jackoway Tyerman.

Jones is repped by APA and Integral Entertaiment while McKinnon is repped by UTA and Principate-Young Entertainment.

Feig confirmed the information in a tweet showing images of the four women.

I'm actually really looking forward to this and the casting has only made me more excited. Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy are hilarious.

I thought they lost the plot with the all-female cast idea, but this does seem like the perfect cast; except for Leslie jones, since I've never heard of her before this.. :|

Only one recognised actress. The other blonde looks like a character I once made in Skyrim.

What they don't mention in the article, the 2nd from the left was cast for the role of Slimer...

We need a male only forum section, like they have those female only forum sections. That way you guys can all give a honest answer.... "whistling: :D

Glordit the wife and I started watching TBBT again, that piece had me laughing so lekker. While watching the show again, Raj has a distinctly British accent at the start of the 1st series, and I liked them better when they were single... (even my wife agrees)

I think the prophecy forum had one when it was still up.

Ah. I thought you were specifically referring to MyGaming.

Personally I don't like the idea of segmenting the forum. I thought gaming was supposed to be about inclusion and diversity. I'm sure there are many threads about the new Ghostbusters over on r/TheRedPill.

yeah me too, I was joking about the guys answers. Never could understand why there was a separate form, they talk about PMS en stuff? Again, I reiterate, just joking.

So, according to this video, they are planing to make a version of Ghostbusters with male cast too? Man I hate the movie industry about as much as I like it....but sometimes, they just seem to sit around and plan how to mess up an awesome franchise.

Why the two different casts? I am not to happy about the female only cast, but to have another male cast only then movie? Mix the it the fuck up, combine a male and female cast...

I'm most probably going to pull an ostrich move and ignore both.

It seems that the Entertainment industry is in a reboot phase at the moment (both gaming and movies). Guess they are out of fresh/original ideas for now, but they have to do something.
