Make take on this Afrophobia/Xenophobia is that a large percentage of South Africans really have too much time on their hands and end up playing the blame game. Blame apartheid, blame colonialism, blame foreigners, etc etc. We actually have nobody to blame, why (as an example) be upset by a say Pakistani owning and running an efficient shop? Is it because he provides a good service, is making money for himself and his family?

What happens once the last "colonial" symbol is dispersed of, when the last sign of apartheid is wiped from the face of this country, when all the foreigners have left, when all international firms have closed their offices, when all farms have been given to people who demand land? What happens then? There is no end game for the uneducated masses, once they have everything they have demanded they will end up having nothing. Sadly we have created a culture of striking and demanding that has been rewarding to the strikers and people making demands. If we cannot break this cycle we will continue on this downward spiral.

I still maintain that we need to invest heavily in education and create a culture of learning and nurture that culture.

I'm just depressed at the lack of intelligence

They try to teach them then they burn the schools down, they try to build toilets for them they break them all, you can't win.

Until they become grateful for what they have nothing can be done.

I understand that schools lack teachers and books, but how does burning them down help.

My wife it participating in a cook-off with Benny Masekwameng, that judge from Masterchef this afternoon. She's a bit nervous but hehe I hope she enjoys it.

Mob of people running through town, these whole xenophobic attacks, came through the mall where we were getting food, everyone running around like headless chickens

Hectic. Is this crowd a xenophobic mob, or an anti-xenophobic mob? I see there's a peace march on in Durban, but peaceful protests in this country tend to be violent
