Fallout 4

So now that Fallout 4 has been out for a week, where is the cheapest place to get a copy for PS4? Loot is R729, think that's the best so far?

Takealot is R759, somehow I would rather pay the extra R30 and use Takealot... I trust them more. Also eBucks!

I have a problem with Fallout on my PC. Seems that it only happened as I got out of the Vault. The NPCs have no sound while in dialogue :/ Any idea or help?

Maybe try this:
I had to go in the sound options on my computer and change the settings to headphones then back to stereo speakers then restart the game. The game must start in stereo regardless of your computer settings.

I saw that somewhere as well. But As i understood it, his games sound didn't work at all. Will try it again though

Yes and no, he had audio, but no environmental sound..seems like some of the sounds only work in stereo or something. Worth a shot i guess.

There's also this to look into ,

If you’re experiencing PC crashes, you’ll first want to download the latest patch from Bethesda, patch 1.1.30 beta update. It comes with a fix for audio module that was causing the game to crash on some PCs. To apply this patch, follow these steps:

Log into Steam
Right-click on Fallout 4 in your Library
Select “Settings“, then “Betas“
A drop-down menu will appear; select the “beta – 1.1.30 Beta Update“
Click “OK“, then wait a few minutes for Fallout 4 to update
When the beta patching has finished, Fallout 4 should appear as “Fallout 4 [beta]” in your Library

I just started a new game and it supports my theory that the game runs worse the further you progress. Getting smooth 60 FPS in an area that lagged on my previous character. 60FPS outside Vault 111. Load up my old character and 20-40 FPS in the same area.

Hope they fix this. :(

did you have a massive stockpile of weapons at your preferred base camp? i wonder if this could have something to do with loading times too

Now that I think about it, I think the sound bug started after this Major Windows 10 Update !

I'm also starting to get more performance issues the longer I play. My framerate is so inconsistent. Last night it was all over the place; one minute it's 60, then 40, then 50, then 30, then back to 60 etc. Loading times are also much longer. Tested with my second (low level) character and it's way better. Loads faster and framerate is more consistent.

I'm thinking this might be part of the problem. I have a SHITLOAD of stuff stored at my house. I have a very hoarding nature with games like these, and even if I won't/can't use a particular weapon/piece of armour/random piece of junk I pick it up and go store it at my house. I also took all the junk that I use for crafting and dumped all of it at one workbench.

I'm getting an "upgrade" either end of this month or middle December and I am considering holding off until then before continuing with Fallout. This should give them time to hopefully sort out some of these issues and the game should also perform much better overall once I have my new GPU (getting a GTX 760, have a 550 now).

Managed to fix my sound issue! It was strange, ONLY in certain games and programs were affected. For example CSGO, AA and other Sound in Fallout were perfectly fine. The Dialogue speech however was the only sound missing. As well as DSTV Now App sound was very muffled!

It seems that it happened after the Windows 10 Update.
I have a gaming sound card for my speakers, and just moved the jack to another port. And WHALLA! It all works fine now!

I had to reinstall my audio drivers after the Win10 update, because my audio was very soft after the update. So perhaps reinstall the drivers if you haven't yet?

Might do that just to make extra sure all is fine! Thanks

Fallout 4 Mod Adds Full Script Lines To Dialogue Choices

18fallout4dialogue.jpg

You know that bit in RPG conversations? You know, that bit where it presents you with brief dialogue options, and you select one which seems innocuous then discover that the full response is a little more complicated? You know, where you click “Okay” and your character says “Okay, I’ll do it, even if you are a pointy-eared freak GOD I hate elves and would murder your face clean off but I guess this is a quest so I’ll settle for skinning your lousy elfmoose – which I will totally do when you turn away, btw”?

If so, you may be glad to hear that someone’s made a mod for Fallout 4 [official site] replacing its one-word dialogue options with the full line you’ll actually say.

This here mod is based on one made in Russian by ‘shadwar’, switched to English by ‘Cirosan’. It shows you full script lines instead of prompts. It comes in two flavours, one displaying options as a straight numbered list for mousers and keyboarders (you can use number keys to chat!), and one with that rosette for controllerers.

However, do bear in mind that those fiddly one-word prompts can also contain hints about how the line will be delivered, so you’ll miss out on that. You might be surprised by your character sarcastically sneering e.g. “Excuse me, princess.” That’s a reference to a video games thing, you know. I wouldn’t be surprised if a future version added those hints back in.

Geez, this game seems bugged to hell. I was really excited for it, but guess I'll hold off for a couple of months to see if Bethesda manage to fix it up. Besides, the game won't get old soon, so I can still play it next year. :)
