So, turns out the pump from our solar geyser burst yesterday, which explains the insane amount of water that streamed into the house. Place looks like a wrech today. Insurance arranged contractors to come help clean up - they might still come through today. After a 2 hour fight on the phone, I managed to arrange for the insurance to pay for alternate accommodation for the wife and I. So we're chilling at a hotel until they replace the ceiling, which should be next week when the builders open up again.

Upon investigation this mornig we saw the cupboards are also ruined, with the wood splitting open and the drawers not opening anymore. Charger cables then were on the ground are rusted through, the bedding and mattress is ruined, wooden bed is swollen and splitting open and wiring hanging from the roof.

 Sorry to hear that, man! That's awful!

*huge hugs * it sucks I know. At least they are covering the hotel costs and this could be seen as a staycation aka housekeeping that cleans for you!

Dankie.

Even though accommodation is paid for, we're forced to eat out more than we would've, which is straining our January budget already. Besides that, internetlessness is killing both my wife and I. :(

I just want my home and bed back. Hotels suck. I'm now forced to take off work to sort this mess out, so the stress of work building up and not being able to account for my hours is also eating at me. I swear I'm going to just quit one of these days and do absolutely nothing for at least a month.

Amen to that, I am going on leave next week for the first time this year...wait...thats right, have had no leave this year so far. Even then I am on standby.

Good luck man, hope you get sorted soon, sucks being like that. I like the stability or security a home gives, dont feel at ease elsewhere.

Gonna be another late night tonight it seems.... so tired I can feel myself making mistakes and my workflow is slowing down :(

what was wrong with 2015 :p

It was an absolutely horrible year. I lost 2 loved ones, had to sacrifice my salary a couple of times to get my business started up and pay staff and rack up huge debt in the process, been the centre of huge company politics for a couple of months now, worked on average 6 days a week, 12 hours a day, had to forfeit my only leave this year to appease client and now my ceiling caved in after solar pump burst in my roof, causing massic damage to furniture, clothes, electronics, documents, books and who knows what else. These are only my personal mishaps.

Is that enough reason to hate this year? I'm sure I can delve up a couple more...

seems horrible but thats looking at the glass half empty, although i had a decent year a few ups and downs but mostly good so im looking at teh glass half full

darn i just realised that my version of corel draw is not compatible with windows 10... darnit i forgot how expensive this program actually is...

I had just about no ups, so my glass is only 10% full for 2015.

You had a horrible time, especially with what happened now with the geyser and all that. But you have your own company! That's mightily impressive. And sure it's giving you hard times now but hopefully it will grow and bring in a lot of money and may 2015 be the seed for a great 2016.

We went to Beast (restaurant) today that opened in the place of the Grill Shop there at Rock Cottage and the menu is very short but wow their ribs are absolutely amazing. So I can definitely recommend going there, drinking some Aces Lager and enjoying their ribs. It's wowee.

That's really sad. You were so positive and excited a couple of months ago.
I was, then the negatives quickly conquered the positives and made me a bitter, cynical old man. I hope I can have a spree of fortune to break this cycle.

Indeed, what ever happened with that Australian prospect?
Might still be on the cards, will only find out middle of January. I need to prepare a formal proposal for the plans I have. In all honesty, I can't see the prospect declining the offer I'm making and, in return, I'll gladly accept his part of the deal. Gladly.

Glad to see all hope is not totally lost, stay strong my friend. Praise the Lord.

Hate it when that happens.
