My first moments of playing TV games was on my dad's Atari 800XL as a young kid but it was when we got a decentish 486 Colour monitor computer that I really got into gaming. So for me it has been roughly 20 years.
Giving away my age here, but it must be close to 30 years now. Started playing TV games at a buddy's house and got our first 286 around 1990. I remember I was in Stander 3 (Grade 5 for you young ones) and was one of the few kids to type out and print my school projects. PC was bought as an "educational tool" after all.
I remember playing TV games in a house which we moved out of at the end of 1987 on something like this
and also something like this
And there was something that looked like a chunky keyboard with a tape deck (games were stored on cassette tapes back then), which may have been a ZX Spectrum or a Commodore 64, can't remember now though. Those games were mostly text based though.
So I would say, it's probably about 30 years that I've been gaming...
Well i started when i was about 8 arkanoid on atari was my first game. And i think frogger or something and i have never stopped gaming since so about 28 years now.
I dabbled in a few games on our old 286, but not really. Started gaming more when we got our SNES when my brother broke his leg, which is 21 years ago.
Got some old Ballies here! Feel like a spring chicken! I would +- 20 Years gaming still remember playing the first GTA on the PS1, and the original Play boy before that. Serious competitive online gaming probably 12 years now
