The Division Thread

I don't think you can LAN the game, so they would need fiber at the very least.
Compounded by the fact that they're looking for XBox and PC players. Yeah, I think they're trying a bit too hard, and not really thinking things through properly. There were some errors in the previous competition, and this LAN page doesn't even mention the date of the gathering (found in the email I got.)

I'm not saying the efforts at promoting the game is a bad thing at all - the more local players the better the MP experience could be for all of us. Just lacking that attention to detail that elevates a good campaign to a great campaign.

Megarom planning on hosting a Division LAN Day on 12 March in Johannesburg (no specific venue indicated.)

Application entry form is here: http://www.megarom.co.za/competition/the-division/, participants to be selected by random draw.
I'm so tempted to enter but we've got a ton of kids parties/baby showers/nappy braais that day so my wife would kill me if I told her I'm ditching it all to go LAN for the day.

They'll probably hold it at one of the ISP's data centres (which I think they've done before) so internet connectivity won't be an issue. Plus you get free food and drinks and the game!

Also a Year One and Season Pass content trailer:

April: Free Update 1.1 - Incursions
Challenging new end-game activity designed specifically for Squad play.

May: Free Update 1.2 - Conflict
New play for the Dark Zone and added incursion to Columbus Circle.

June: Expansion 1 - Underground
Descend into the underbelly of New York to fight enemies in the maze of tunnels and subways of the underground.

(Summer): Expansion 2 - Survival
Search New York for enough supplies and high-tech equipment to survive.

(Winter): Expansion 3 - Last Stand
Defend your base against a relentless new foe.

Also bonus exclusives for Season Pass holders:
> Sawed-off shotgun
> Regular content drops
> Season Pass bonus events
> Exclusive outfits

And new features planned:
> Loot trading
> Gear sets
> Dark Zone features
> Daily and Weekly assignments

EDIT: Also of note, there is a folder in the file system titled "Rogue" that existed in the Beta as well. Following the folder path Rogue>sdf_streaming>pc, I found a folder titled "nyc_brooklyn". This existed in the Beta as well, but appears to have significantly more content in the full game download specifically pointing to map generation (although not on the scale of the nyc_manhattan folder). I'm not sure what people have concluded on the Brooklyn front, but this may be more information.

Yep got one of those form him as well. Claimed without any issues.

Finally preload complete. Now just for the unlock patch tomorrow.

I only started the 28GB download last night and stopped it this morning, so it still has 10GB to go. So I'll download the rest tonight.

I freaked out for a bit, because I couldn't get the second key to activate for my wife. Some googling showed that you have to wait 24 hours before you can activate another key.

Anyone know when reviews are dropping? I'm not making a purchase until I know there's value for the full asking price. :(

Did you use the same email address for both keys?

Never a good sign when there are no pre-release reviews. Will hold out until there are some solid opinions and a decent gauge at game length.

I wouldn't say that. It's not held back because of embargo from what I understand, just because of servers not being able to go live until release day.

I don't buy that excuse, they could have given early access to reviewers. I'll remain on the wait and see approach for now...
