Official Star Citizen Thread

Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this error? I see the splash screen for a few seconds and then I just get the option below to submit a crash report.

I have tried the verify option, no dice. Next I tried deleting everything except the data folder, reinstalling the client and letting it download everything again, but it still crashes. Is there anything else I can try other than deleting everything and downloading the entire game again?

I used to get a hung screen on trying to start in 2.3. Discovered that I could run the game perfectly by skipping the launcher entirely and running the game as Admin directly from the StarCitizen.exe file instead.

Only other thing I can suggest... Was your User folder one of those you deleted, or was that part of the data folder you kept? Have seen it mentioned fairly often that deleting the User folder helps fix a lot of log in issues. Can't check exact location right now but it should be in something like C:\Program Files\Cloud Imperium Games\StarCitizen\Public\USER

Failing those ideas, I wouldn't bother re-downloading 2.4 right now. 2.5 is already on its j version on the Test Server and should (hopefully) be pushed to Live within a few days. If you can't get 2.4 going now, uninstall both the game and launcher files, delete everything left over and try again when the new version is released would be my suggestion.

One thing which helped me a lot with the launcher was adding an exception for it in my antivirus program. It works perfectly now.

I believe this is a known issue and they added this crash report recently to help them figure out why it's doing this. Because previously it just used to hang and crash.
I have the same issue and went via the exe instead. With 2.4.1 I still have the issue.

Thanks. I see 2.5 went live last night. I've deleted everything and reinstalled the client so I can do a completely fresh download and install. :)

All I can say is that Star Citizen will bankrupt me lol
I bought myself a new toy over the weekend and if this coming month goes well I'm going to buy a much larger ship.
For now I've got a Hornet F7C. I'm not all that fond of the looks but it feels really good in flight.

The F7C is pretty ugly, yeah. The recently revealed F7A looks a heck of a lot better. The F7C still packs a mean punch though.

Holly molly. Nice breh let's explore,I'll grab my bomber and we should be safe.[emoji16]

It's such an absolute beast of a thing xD
I am however planning on upgrading it to a Redeemer if business goes well over the next few weeks.

Well the Andromeda is at least flyable right now, whereas the Redeemer is basically just the hangar model from TNGS competition. Is it really worth buying right now if you can't do anything with it?

Doesn't really matter. I mean I got 120 000 rec so what ever ship becomes flyable I can test. Plus they rotate ships you can fly and try for free almost every patch.
