The Official Battlefield 1 thread

Granted I'm enjoying this a little more than BF4 right now, but that may be due to it being new and refreshing. That being said I'm still not sold on it as a whole, and I definitely won't be getting it if there aren't local servers. Guess I may just be over this whole MP scene, I'm actually having more enjoyment out of story focused and SP games.

Local server will come, remember this is just a beta test. At this point in development they should just be stress testing servers and fine tuning weapon balance and looking for any glitches or bugs that a large volume of players can pick up.

Some of the BF4 gameplay is kinda stale especially once you throw a few hundred hours in to the game. I miss the bf3 team death match.
 
So got some game time last night. This game is fantastic!! Super fun. So glad I've already pre-ordered it.

My first round didn't go down to badly, got a positive KD ratio, but ended up high in the rankings after playing the objectives rather well. Was capturing nodes left right and center...

You can see your team was playing the objectives, look at the point spread.

Yeah that was a good match to get started with the beta. Everyone was super focused on capturing the points, and at one point we held all of them. Unfortunately not all matches were like that.

Some things never change though - I spawned with a few others back at base and one person jumped in an APC and fucked off, left us all to run like 700m, that was fun!

Yeah you will always get asshats like that. But then you find that one guy that you follow and that plays well with you. I had an instance where a guy actually backed up to come and fetch me with his Jeep. We tore the other team a new one. I found him later in the match, I was playing medic, and I ressed him like 4 times. He raked up the kills while I kept him alive. He top scored the round at the end and we won the match. And I finished within the top 5 again that round, though I only got 2 kills. That's why I love the scoring system. You don't need to be the best shot to be the best performer on the team. All you need to do is play supportive and play the objectives. I love this bloody game

I am glad they adjusted the scoring, BF4 I would sit in a chopper or tank and repair the hell out of it while the driver clocked up the kills and I got relatively nothing.

probably just people haven't learned how to counter them yet.
 
meh, Downloaded the beta only to have a message pop up that I need to update my drivers. Turns out they don't update 5870 drivers anymore.
 
So managed 2 or 3 games over the weekend didn't get much chance to play sadly. It's a fun game, got in the train and was mopping up despite my 200+ping. Oh for a local server!!

Snipers, Snipers everywhere, sniping with a poor ping is not impossible but defiantly not fun. Levelcap and a couple other guy seem to like the sniping say it's easier the most BF games, but I think that's also the faster bullet velocities in this game.
Sniping pilots in this game is going to be a thing I think.

The last 2 telegraph points on Rush are fun to attack, but the tanks way too annoying on that map.

Now to get round to pre-ordering.
 
Played a few matches this weekend and really enjoyed it. Didn't really notice much lag. A lot of snipers but i find it much easier to spot them as well with the scope reflection.

Will have a few more games tomorrow night
