Half life 1 source

Well you are left on that planet unarmed and surrounded by those big bastard aliens. We can pretty much assume Gordan dies in that ending. :/

+1 That was one of the strongest story moments in any game ever (Better than finding the BFG9000 for the first time or discovering who Firkraag is) and by far the most connected and involved I've felt in a FPS storyline. Like you, I stood up and left, but now remember it as pure unadulterated awesome.

I wonder if Gordon will find the cake in HL2: Ep 3?

And I agree, Valve are taking WAY too long with Episode 3, can you imagine what the hold-up is for a game as short as COD4? I know the Writing's the main issue, but its just taking unbelievably long.

Yeah it's been so long you'd think they decided what the heck and made a new engine and HL3 instead.
 
They've been so quiet about it too. I wouldn't be surprised if they have something big in store. They probably first want to get the L4D2 release out of the way. I really hope we get some news soon.
 
indubitably although Left for Dead 2 comes out this november, and there is no way in hell, ep3 will be anywhere near done by then.

I've always noticed that the tech the dev in HL2 they use and perfect in another game, then relate all that back to HL - next episode or even new games (l4d)

HL2: Doing facial expressions - taken by TF2 and enhanced to have "certain conditions of speech" - taken and enhanced by L4D to give an atomosphere and back story between char.

Cant help by feel L4D will be taking that "cinematic physics" to a new level and that HL2:Ep3 will be using more of the "Director" type approach to encounters. But we'll see. I think next up is Ep3 - but then again, I thought that after L4D1 >.<
 
I certainly can't wait for EP3. Pre-downloaded EP2 and completed it in about 6 hours and have been waiting for the next episode since then...

It's been so loooong and there haven't even been any mention on the new episode.. So annoying :mad:

I hope they'll make a new box like the Orange Box. That was a pretty sweet deal.

shame... When Episode 3 is in sight, Im going to play the whole lot again, hopeful Black Mesa Source will be out by then so I can relive HL1 in great graphics :D
 
I just watched the Black Mesa video again, it's looking really damn sharp. The attention they are paying to detail is very impressive. I hope it makes that 2009 release.
