How was your day?

Well, this has been the first weekend in MONTHS that we didn't have a party or gathering of some sort on. This afforded me valuable time to catch up on work and watch a movie on TV. Today will be much of the same and maybe some gaming as well.

First weekend in a month that my wife is actually at home and not working for a change, so its nice to not only see her in the early morning and evenings for a change.

So we are slegging hard this weekend. Next weekend Sunday is gonna suck, because we will have no power from 05:00 until 21:00 and my wife is working; but that is a story for another day :)
 
Yesterday was great. Explored a massive botanical garden (Kew gardens :eek:). Got my new toy (fitbit) so was running around like an idiot testing that. :D

slegging? From context I'm guessing sexy time? Urban dictionary says its got something to do with miscarriages and/or abortions.

Not really. We just know quite a lot of people who all had some sort of gathering arranged the past couple of months. I'd much rather spend time at home...

It means to be "sleg", the Afrikaans word for "bad". So they are most probably just lazing around not doing much of anything...

Had an epic weekend. Hosted a house party in my flat, did a traditional Aboriginal walkabout, petted a koala, got friendly with a kangaroo, and got to pet a wombat as well. Plus my Kerbal Space Program skills are improving dramatically!!

Still, I miss my friends and family in SA.
 
My dad is going for his big surgery today. So yesterday we all got together, went to a restaurant and just spent the day together. It was an emotional day. And hopefully everything will go well this week.

My weekend consisted of elping my brother pack up his house, moving it to my parents - he needs to move in end of this week while he wait for the new place to open up. Current tenants will only be out on 1 Sept. Lots of tv in bed, it was silly cold. Sunday spent the morning dyeing a top - failed epically doing it in the washing mashine. Also baked a big batch of dog biscuits. As well as made risotto for lunch, trying to not shout at my dad, he was pissing me off by shouting at me cos the printer didnt work - somehow I have a magic wand that could fix it. No idea how I could fix it when it didnt even turn on.
