How reliable is it to buy a cd key for a game from someone on the internet? theres this guy selling his MW2 cd key that has not been used for like R290.......is there a way to check before one buys?

If the guy has installed the game, you would need to get his steam account.

You load the CD key on steam against your account. The CD won't work if he has already loaded it.

As I said the only way to get around this is if he gave you his Steam account as well.
