Blizzard talks about StarCraft II

Good point. If the beta only swings around August/September, then the chances are very good that it will only be a 2010 release!

They have a very good predecessor to beat in the original Starcraft series.
I bet they are playing for time to make everything excellent!
 
If it is a very good polished Beta then it could be released a month later, very mush like the Dawn of War II Beta.

We can only hope.

But the question remains will you rather take SCII this year or the same Blizzard excellent quality next year? I think most will rather choose the latter.
 
One thing that is cool about blizzard is that they dont bow to pressure to being released on time [or have a release every year]. Finding that I'd much rather buy a game done right, than one rushed out. Blizzard and Valve are the ones who take there time on projects, but then again, they have deep pockets to keep funding it [Steam and WoW]

this new starcraft better be good, i played the first one for 3 years of my life, no other games, its the reson i failed gr7 (kidding but i nearly did fail)

After this latest Q&A batch (49, 49.5) I must say that I am really worried for the first time since the announcement.

I had faith the Blizzard would do the right thing about the Thor and Mothership - I mean they were probably just soliciting opinions from the community to see what the fans thought while testing some of the new stuff they could do internally, right?

Yet both units remain. Greatly modified, yes, but the fact is there's no room in the Terran and Protoss sides for units like these... It seems Blizzard is just unwilling to leave some things on the cutting room floor. I still held out hope that this was just something Blizzard was leaving for the beta.

But then the announcement of the new caster buildings left me no choice but to replace my cautious optimism with 'meh, maybe I'll check it out when it's released to see if it doesn't blow chunks.'

Micro for resource gathering?! They're even putting grind into their RTSes now!

That makes me a sad panda.
 
Honestly I have been waiting too long for this. I think I will stop waiting and just be glad when it finally hits our shores. And with all the hype it better be amazing...
