wug

Talk to The Joker, he has it. Says the speeds are pretty good and I know there are a lot of game servers running...

PS: You will need to get bigger HDDs. :D

yeah I wanted to join the wug, I have a couple of wug users in my street. LOOOOL! but My DSL comes first. Probably gonna do wug still, but a bit later!

Yip im a wug member!!
Its fantastic!!
We have cod servers, gta4 servers, css servers ect.
The downloading is awsome and the speeds are excellent obviously depending on where you are based!!

What's the cost of setting up a wug? How do I know if i'm in range of a wug antenna in my area? I was talking to my buddy about the wug here in Cape Town and he knows a few people who use it. Sounds like a great permanent lan.

I think the kit to get connected is something like R2500 or R2200.

go here dude, wug.za.net, all the info you need is there!

It depends on how far you are from your nearest high site but I would say R2000 is pretty decent average figure.

the thing is there is no wug in sandton (weird but true) and people are talking about getting a base station up on sandton city roof but i first have to wait and see what happens

That sounds pretty awesome! I'll look into it a bit more.

Depends where you get it from. I just read on their site, they recommend joining the IRC channel and asking guys on there what current prices are like.

If anyone finds out a rough estimate please post it here.

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like it might be a fun little hobby to set up. I'll be doing some investigation in the mean time.
