DX11 Graphics Cards May Ship in 2009

DirectX 11?

Well, as stated, [obviously] no games are going to be released this year with Dx11 support, and undoubtedly lots of Dx11 games in 2010...

So, there is no reason to wait for a card with Dx11 support, if you want to upgrade your graphics card now... your new generation ATI / Nvidia will keep you happy for a long time to come.

(I still have my old Nvidia GeForce 8800GTS 320MB, and I am still very very happy with it. (yes the first ones :p))

Sheesh you right, can't keep up with all these new cards, seriously annoying. Not to mention they are rebranding and selling cards now, like with the GTRX250.

Its not much of a surprise, planning for the future. Same happened with the release of Vista. At least they'll release the support for it so the games can start coming out with it as well.

It's just sillyness... Methinks I'm going to have to put some money down on some horse races or something if I'm ever going to be able to keep up. Stock trading... Now there's an idea...

I've got the same gfx card and i'm also happy with it.

I don't know hey..I think we might just get a Dx11 game towards the end of the year..You never know!!

I also have one, but I'm finding tis showing its age a bit. What resolution do you game at? I'm at 1680x1050 and Empire Total War run at around 20FPS on lowish settings. It may be a CPU or ram thing. But still, I am eyeing an upgrade this year.

I think I will wait a bit for the HD 4870 to come down.

As for DX11 gaming, I havent heard much? Are MS shopping the before/after shots around yet, displaying the epic next gen visual capabilities of their latest ap?(sarcasm)

I'm happy with my 8800GTX Ultra, it's still going strong. But the way things are moving it's hard to keep up. At least we're seeing decent drops in card prices.

As long as that keeps up it should be good.

That 8800GTX has shown impressive longevity. AFAIK it is still capable of handling the latest games on highish settings. How is your experience with recent titles Toxin?

Its definitely an argument for the high end segment. Sure you spend like double up front, but they just seem to last forever

I thought that they were gonna make DX10 the last of the series but its not like i'll even be able to run DX11 anyway seeing as im using XP still :p but has anyone got info as to what improvements they have made to the new DX then???

I don't have any details... but there is no way that DX 10 was going to be the last of the series, and neither will DX11 be the last.

I have a normal XFX 8800GTX but managed to get my hands on the Ultra firmware. Flashed it up and was a for away. :)

As for recent titles can't really say...... POP4 runs at about 60-90 FPS at full detail and 1600x1050. Same with COD4 and 5. GTA4 doesn't run that well but that's because of all the buggy-ness.

I should maybe install some other games and see what Fps I reach. But I'm more than happy with it ATM. :)

Even My 8800GT Alpha Dog was extremely fast. I only got the GTX260 cause of the Higher REz stuff, moving from a 19" LCD to a 23" Full HD LCD.

Lower Rez 1280x1024, benchmarking and gaming there was just about no noticable FPS differences between the 2 in COD4,5 and the like. Only when I used lekker amounts of AA did the GTX260 really pull ahead. Games like Crysis and GTAIV got a visible performance bump over the 8800GT using 1280x1024 though.

yeh even though it was just a rumour though its just what i read/heard but if im not mistaken then that makes DX9c the last of the series for XP everything else is gonna be DX10 and Eleven.....
