Top 3 wishes gamers would (foolishly) make

Well, me and my wife play games together.
And yes, we rag on each other quite frequently.

But no, it in no manner affects us negatively.

But also, let it be said, I'm the hardcore and she's the casual (time-wise... she actually has some decent skills!)
 
i lol'ed, but yes everyone wants sex, 100+ hours of gaming and acceptance :D. surely a game should be at least around the 6 to 8 hour mark. i feel ripped off if i pay R400, and only play like 4 hours without the prospect of re-playability. then again a movie for one hour can easily be R100, right ;)
 
Bleh.. I don't agree with this article. 100 hour campaigns would be AWESOME, like they used to be. Thing is there aren't that many Next Big Things anyways, they're mostly just more short, buggy, cash-in crap these days. I'd much rather invest time into 2 awesome, engaging, long games then 10 short, buggy ones with little to do but watch movies. These days your only options are the Total War games and Civilization V (and even that's dumbed down and "streamlined" a lot). For shooters etc, there's no real options. I remember thinking Quake IV was short, but it's a bloody epic compared to todays stuff.

I wouldn't mind a gf who plays games either, as long as she buys her own hardware. I'm too poor to buy a gaming rig as a present to someone, and I'm sure as hell not going to let her monopolise my new Crossfired Sandy Bridge. The precious is mine, we wants it. :D
 
100 hour single player game would be a little tiresome after a while.:p

I do however want a gamer girlfriend. That would be fun:D

100-hour campaigns ... over-rated - I'll settle for any game that can keep me busy for 20 hours (like ME1 did) or has awesome replay value (Civ IV comes to mind). Gamer girlfriend would be nice ... but the thing that tops my list is the damn release of GW2 ... or at the very least a friggin release date.
 
Only thing there I partially wish for is longer campaignes. Especially in SP, you say we'll never get to finishing all of them because too many would come out, but it won't, a longer story means it'll take longer to develope and plan out, and if this is done any sort of diligence, less games, with more story value would be releaced instead of 5 billion 2 minute games every other day.

More acceptance? Fuck that! The "expanding culture" has brought us nothing but the Wii and bad console ports.

Gamer Girlfriend? Meh, I'm a gamer, not a fucker. Games > Sex. Besides that, being Bi I can bunk up with another gamer dude if I REALLY need to.

makes me think of this model I knew that went for a before and after photo shoot of her legs selling a new kind of razor blade.
They gave her a disposable bic razor to shave her legs for the after photos and the advert wasnt even for bic razors ..

I've never really understood the "gamer girlfriend" thing.

I want to play games, when I'm done with my games I want my sandwich and chocolate cake. Women say they can multi-task but either i'm gonna roflstomp her or get a crappy sandwich and a shitty cake.

I don't want a crappy sandwich and a borked cake.

I suspect that more okes just want a girlfriend/wife/other who is more understanding of gaming and gamers. Like me.
Yeah I cop some flak sometimes, but then I can also admit to really spending too much time in front of the games. But overall I'm very lucky and appreciate my wife being as tolerant as she is!

My wife to be is really understanding.
Also , I only play for an hour every night so its not like im pushing my luck :)

Well be it console/pc games, golf, paintball, mountain biking, kayaking. It doesn't matter. You should have a partner that understands that you are a guy/gamer/outdoor person, and like to do these things. I mean would she want to date a hipster lumberjack that does interior decorating?

This isn't so much about gaming as it is respecting each other's hobby's. My partner and I have a brilliant relationship that centers around: "There are certain things which make you happy, thus it makes me happy."
