Console gaming VS PC gaming

I also think it's a personal preference because some people prefer PC gaming and others prefer console gaming...I personally prefer console gaming :D I think I like it because it's nice to be able to play without a keyboard and mouse, controllers are very handy with them being portable and wireless etc. and it feels like a chance to get away from your PC for a while where you can just sit back and relax for a while.
 
Both pc and consoles are great to play on.. But u might not have one of those top of the range pc's.. And thus some people prefer the consoles.. Even though the games are more expensive, all console players get to play the game on highest detail...

Personally! I own a 360, ps3 and decent pc.
I love all three, so there's no such thing as console being better than a pc or vice versa.

It comes down to what suits you best and what type of game you want to play on whatever platform!

Pc graphics is waaayyy better!

But with today's games, you are no longer able to jam with your mates at a lan, and that's where I think console's got the upper hand. Nothing beats a black ops game between you and 3-7 of your friends! It's EPIC.

Personally I'd say FPS=PC & racing games=console.

Just my 2c...
 
I don't really like using a mouse... Makes my hand sore for some reason :p Unless it's a LAN or something I dont really play PC

It balances out when you take into account you need to upgrade your pc every 6 months or so. Also the games are not that much cheaper anymore with some PC games hitting Console prices.
 
I must say that this is the mildest PC vs Console thread I have ever seen. Even though it was done in good humour, if this same thread was on some of the other (and international) forums that I am on, it would have been a nightmare. Nice one!

Why do people keep saying that?

I upgrade my PC once every two years. And PC games on average are still cheaper - if you discount Activision's idea of what a PC game should cost.

I see that particular point raised EVERY DAMN time there's a PC vs Console thread - and I think it's just as tired and pointless as the entire debate is. And James had no intention of starting the debate either - he was posting a funny pic, which I also laughed at because it's kinda true ... for now.

Also ... note the particular image used - the guy who created the pic had one intention - to get a reaction.

Congratulations guys, you've all been trolled.

Cause that is normally the case, and if you do upgrade every two years a console you generally buy once and use it till the next cycle ends which is 5 years. There is also time involved in getting a PC game to work, it's not simply drop in and play then again PS3 games are getting like that now, drop in, install 300meg patch, install to hard drive and play 2 hours later ;-) so it evens out.

Technically you have no also been trolled :P

But just to add to that, you don't have to upgrade your PC every 6 months. That's ridiculous. Some PC gamers do though, because they can. PC gaming is a very enthusiast thing. You don't get into it unless you know you will be able to afford it.
 
Pointless debate, IMHO. To each his own, I say. PC and console gamers choose so, because of a particular type of games they like to play and also based on their budget and lifestyle, i.e casual vs hardcore gamer.

Don't get me wrong ... I'm not doing the whole one is better than the other argument ... I'm sick and tired of it tbh. I'm just saying - and I see it as one of the console boys' favourite arguments - about having to upgrade your PC every other day.

That may be true for an absolute PC gaming junkie who has to have the absolute latest thing the day it sees sunlight, but for an average bloke like myself who budgets carefully it's never necessary. My last major upgrade was at the beginning of this year (motherboard, cpu ... that's it), and the last time I bought anything was my little 9400 which set me back a massive R460 - that was 12 months prior.

The only real difference between the two types of platforms, the way I see it, is in terms of use and versatility. You can't really do work on a console. From a pure gaming perspective, there's no reason for this debate to exist. I play both and I play different games on either - I find some games work better for me on PC, and others just fit with the consoles better. End of argument, in my book.

@to0ks - If you consider everyone posting in this thread after the OP to be a troll, then yes, I've been trolled :p I had no reaction to the initial pic though :D
 
Okay weird, then you are pretty much getting the same or less experience then the console gamers :-D and there isn't a reason for this debate to exist, I have a gaming PC and three consoles so I'm sorted, I just like lying on the couch with my controllers in hand and playing on my big TV. The PC is great for some games.

Less experience probably ... with my rig :p

But see, my thing is - I play the game ... not the graphics. My rig can just barely handle Crysis 2 - and a lot of games I have to push the settings down, and ... well ... my take is ... if the game is crap, graphics won't save it. If the game's good, you'll enjoy it either way. As you said ... no reason for the debate to exist ;)
