strategy and 3rd person view game in one

hey guys, so i know there's a game like this, the kind of game where it is a strategy but when you click a button on the HUD it changes to third person view of a certain character you made or one you selected.

the is some roman or greek game, i forgot what it's called... :/ but there was another one that came looong before it, it was a game where you build machines, all your units are non-biological and you could change between strategy and third person view of any unit you build, you would take total control of it and be able to move around aand shoot.

does anyone know what game im talking about? (the machine one) and/or if there are any other games that are like this...? i would love to find and play this again to see if its as awesome as it used to be :)

Nah, it is basically a First Person Shooter. You get glimpses of the "map" that looks like the normal strategy game when you zoom in on your character before the missions starts. That is about it. The rest is run and gun.
 
nah itz not battlezone (at least i dont think it is, doesnt look like it) but it is somewhere it the 90s... i remember playing it when i was still a kid and def not renegade.. plus.. ur a man in that game not a machine.. "non-biological units"
 
"Savage 2 - A Tortured Soul" perhaps?
I haven't had time to play it yet, only downloaded and installed it (free is free), but from what I understood (as far as I can remember), is that it is those two elements combined. Could be wrong though. Perhaps google it for more info and screens.
 
The one with the Greeks and Romans is: Rise and Fall Civilizations at War :).

I don't know what the older one is called :(...
