What did they say about MyGaming?

Does anyone understand how the tournament works. I am playing the same guy twice in the tournament.

I think it's once as white and once as black. I've got the details that they posted in the newsletter. Will let you know tonight.

Cool, sorry I took so long. Was a hectic day. This is how the tournament works:

Tournaments works on a knock-out basis. Each player plays two games against their opponent, one as white and one as black. The winner advances to the next level. If you tie with your opponent, you will automatically play a decider game with a random color.

Thanks Solitude, I seem to have more questions than answers.

I think he needs to put a faq section on the site. Will ask him in the next mail. Newcomers to the site will also not know what the site is about. It really needs an about and faq section.

I for one, need to win some games. Lost 3 games over the weekend.

I just hate it when I'm ahead... and then BLUNDER. I've lost a couple of games like that this past few days.

Solitude, I see you're quite taken this chess thing :)... I saw on your profile somewhere that you even played chessmaster and everything.

Edit: In your signature... that's where I saw it :p

Pity you didn't blunder against me ;)

Haha yeah Fivel beat me and he felt so sorry for me that he bought Chessmaster as a gift for me on Steam. :) lol actually he decided to buy it as a gift before he beat me. I'm enjoying chess a lot. Going to try and get better.

Hi guys, sorry for the slow response but here goes:

Fivel, I see Solitude already explained the basic workings of tournaments. Speed tournaments is no different, except that there is no timebank (if your opponent does not make move within one day you win the game). About you not receiving our newsletter, can you please just check your email address in your profile settings. If it still gives problems you are more than welcome to contact me directly and I will make sure to sort out the problem.

PatPion, you are most definitely correct that Swiss tournaments is the chess standard for tournaments. It is on our "todo" list to implement the Swiss tournament structure, but we decided on a standard knock-out format as the starting point for ChessConquest tournaments. (We are still a very new site and are experimenting with ideas).

Solitude: The FAQ section is also a definite on our todo list.

As most of you guys already probably realized is that we direct our development 100% according to what players want (even my own ideas are scrapped sometimes for the sake of what the majority of players want). So if you don't see your feature request pop up immediately on ChessConquest, it might be that we had to give higher priority to other feature requests that received more votes.

We are however working very hard to try and accommodate everyone's requests.
