"People and companies in gaming" forum

Seriously? Are you guys THAT bored that you have to populate this forum with complete and utter drivel?
It's bad enough that there's a similar forum on MyBB, but now it has migrated here. >.<

This is a FORUM. If you really feel the need to do the work of Google, why not set up a wiki and put it there where it is out of the way and not cluttering up the forum?

All those posts from that forum in the 'What's New' feed is VERY annoying.

I wonder why that subsection ("People and companies in gaming") of the forum ever came to be?
Would love to know why... lol

It's a sad sad situation. I'm yearning for a local gaming site that's not trying to be like the rest. We have a great community here. Mygaming has the potential to do something wonderful.

Revamp the site! Look at local developers also, try and get some competitions going where the community has to do something unique. Not like: Give me a reason why you should win this.
Maybe get some small web based multiplayer going or something. There's so many options out there.

Try it out, be unique. Do something NEW!

Glad I'm not the only one. :p

There might be a chance that they are just trying to do the right thing, but these days the way online socializing goes... Think of it in a communists way. That's how I see most online forums. Mygaming is one of the few that I enjoy being on. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt. For now...

Meh, it doesn't bother me in the slightest

I do agree a bit though, most people would rather just google any query than attempt to find any info on here.

They usually use the info from those threads when they're writing articles. It would also enable them to give a link to said person if the need arises.
Say Person A from Company B answers a interview, they'd then be able to list you to some quick facts about Person A if you were wondering who he is.

(Atleast, this is what I picked up so far from experience)

I don't see the issue at all. It's going to be filled up in a few days and then nobody. There's no need to scold MyGaming staff for doing something that is entirely their decision to do and which might actually prove useful. All I see is people complaining for the sake of it.

bla bla bla bla

Fixed. Maybe next time try to contribute?. always cute to comment from the driver seat when you are not driving.

I see no harm in what they've added and some of those I've found to be nice over not knowing. Games don't just appear in a box or in your download folder, they actually like milk have an origin and supplier...

I think the "library" is a bit moot, although it is quite specific to SA by including the likes of Kalahari/Takealot/etc.

Then again, Wikipedia exists for a reason.

This.

If I want information on someone, I'll google them.

Then google it. Nobody is forcing you to go into that forum at all.

Honestly, you guys are all acting as if someone is going to grab your hand and force you to click on it.

its just irritating because it looks like spam. Well I consider it spam actually - its meaningless and pointless information that clogs up the forum to me.

It's out of the way, in its own forum where you don't have to venture at all if you don't want to. How is that spam. Stop complaining for the sake of complaining. Gawd.

I honestly can't believe that people are complaining about a very informative part of the forum. It doesn't look like spam and it's in it's own section in the forum. It's gaming related information in a gaming forum. Crikey.

You actually read them?
