A prominent Texas judge who was filmed beating his daughter with a belt and cursing at her said he was merely disciplining his child and did nothing wrong.

Hillary Adams, the daughter who is seen being beaten in the video, secretely recorded the beating seven years ago and recently uploaded it to YouTube Oct. 27. The video was then posted on Reddit, a link-sharing website, where it racked up millions of views and incited anger among viewers.

Both Hillary and William Adams have said the beating took place as punishment for then-16-year-old Hillary illegally downloading from the internet. It was shot in 2004 by a secret camera Hillary set up when she anticipated her father might beat her. She said the beatings were a regular part of her life during those years, but she did not publish the video until now because she feared it would incite more violence, according to the interview.

Honestly I would also bliksem my kid, if I got into shit for him/her downloading illegally. However I wouldn't go as bos as this oke did on his daughter, that's proper abuse. I had my fair share of hidings in Boarding school and at home as a kid, but not as bad as that.

Exactly. Nothing wrong with giving your kid a hiding, but this kind of thing is just wrong.
 
Come to think if it, I also got shlutted hard with a belt, and if I ever backchatted my dad, he would just fsck me up real good. When I think back I'm glad the way I was brought up. Eventually I stopped trying to hide under the bed because that shit just really makes it worse.

+1 Dude, parents today don't discipline their kids at all. That's why there's so many screwed up kids out there. They basically think they can get away with anything they please. Which is just seriously fucked up. Also, all this bullshit about the kids going on killing sprees and shit- it's all because parents just don't know how to enforce some good, old school discipline.

We also don't know the context of the video. Maybe this kid is a real little bitch and drove her parents to boiling point. I know I've had worse hidings when I was a kid than what this chick had in the video. Getting disciplined as a kid isn't funny, but we don't really have any right to judge. When people start strangling kids, or drowning them, or something totally ridiculous like hitting them with a flail, that's fucked up. This, to be honest, is pretty standard stuff. Also, the yelling was pretty mild.

I was visiting my cousins in the Transvaal once when I was a kid, and my brother and I rolled a huge tractor tyre down their drive-way, straight through the neighbour's window at the bottom of the downhill driveway. My uncle gave us the beating of a lifetime. Not with a belt, with a plank. That broke on my ass. I had bruises for a week. And trust me, I never did dumb shit like that ever again in my life.
 
No matter if you were baiting your dad into it, there is absolutely no excuse under this sun to beat your child like that. None. That's ruthless child abuse, no matter which way you paint it.

Why anyone would want to hurt their child like that is beyond me.

If I were standing in front of those 2 piece of shit for parents I would probably smash both their faces in.

Disgusting! No matter what she did, that is beyond unacceptable and that is in fact assault.
