Not sure what it is downloading at because teamviewer eats a chunk when I try to view on my 384K line. Remember the patch downloading at 50K+ speeds. Thanx to proxy servers.

Can any1 guestimate how many online BF3 players there are in SA?

Couple of hundred during peak times.
 
Just played a game of BF3 and it randomly disconnects,the error message?=Something went wrong:wtf:

Servers mahbe not patched yet? Or just a bad patch?

I know bt games was sold out on pre orders, so good number of local players.
 
Run the PBSVC Tool
Even if your PB is running flawlessly it may require that PB B be reinitialized
 
Ever since patch I keep getting stuck every 5-10 sec and I can't move for like 20 sec, plus none of my shots hit anyone while in this situation :(. First time I ever moered my keyboard lol, although it's not the keyboard's fault.
 
Try a non IS based ISP account
I've had the same issues on Afrihost and IS accounts while testing
 
Non IS (Internet Solutions) Based Account
Like a Telkom ISP account or even a Mobiile Account

The reason for this, and this is why everyone on IS based Accounts are struggling at the moment is that all IS based accounts are handicapped due to IS being out of capacity (Not Enough BW available for users)

INSTALLATION OF THE PATCH & INFINITE UPDATE LOOP

This is the issue I have experienced while trying to install the latest patch. The same might happen with the next patches:

Battlelog status: Update Available!
After clicking on Update: Origin turns on and asks me to buy BF3.
Origin BF3 status: Ready to play!
Game size: 10.7 GB
After pressing Play Now: UPDATE AVAILABLE
After clicking Update: 1.5 GB download appears for like 5 seconds and immediatelly jumps to 100%
After that it's in infinite loop.



LIST OF ALL KNOWN FIXES. TRY THEM ALL AS THEY'RE ALL ARE CONFIRMED TO HELP SOME PEOPLE:

Restarting Origin > WORKS TO SOME PEOPLE
Refreshing Origin games > CONFIRMED TO WORK!
Repairing install > CONFIRMED TO WORK!
Turning Offline and Online again in Origin > WORKS TO SOME PEOPLE
Reinstalling the game > (unknown, should work)
Removing C:/.../BF3/_installer/ > APPEARENTLY WORKS TO SOME PEOPLE (probably a coincidence!)
Shutting down Battlelog, then update > (unknown)
Check for two bf3.exe files > WORKS TO SOME PEOPLE
Running Origin as an Admin > WORKS TO SOME PEOPLE
Disabling firewall, then update > WORKS TO SOME PEOPLE
Checking for patch files in quarantine > WORKS TO SOME PEOPLE
Patching manually (link below) > (unknown, should work)
Hiding and unhiding BF3 folder (Properties) > WORKS TO SOME PEOPLE (might be a coincidence though)
Delete .glo file from BF3/Support/EA Help/en-us > CONFIRMED TO WORK!
OR
Uncheck the Read only option of the .glo file > CONFIRMED TO WORK!
Delete BF3\Update\Patch\Data\Win32\Loc & repair -> WORKS TO SOME PEOPLE (probably a coincidence!)

LOL... just more and more problems, would have thought DICE would have sorted out most issues yet... how long is it going to take them to fix this?

Jip a problem although mine has had no problems, it happens when you release a game with a Beta backend, Can you remember all the IW Net issues in MW2?

Was just as bad.....
 
felt like this when playing on the SS server last night cause it always seems to be the case that one side will be just be SS vs everyone else on the server ... not much team balancing there hey :confused:

seems i will be sticking to what i said earlier in this thread, the helis definitely need a nerf, they are way too powerful and that buff they included in the patch just made more shit, 6 rockets as well as whoever else was shooting at it and nothing, that shit was still flying around ... and this is probably a bug, you immediately lose your tracking and lock on if the heli uses flares to avoid a rocket already after it ... and more stationary AA should be put on the map instead of just at the damn initial spawn

Most of the evening it was sG and a couple of SS okes on the one side against a stacked SS side. Wasn't that bad dude. We had some tight games.

I don't think that's a bug. When you flare and you lose the lock I mean. It's meant to be like that. But yeah, dude I don't think the choppers are that bad. Shooting an infantry with 14 rockets before they die is fucking ridiculous. I'm glad they buffed the damage on the rock pods. Remember when I shot that chopper you were flying in down with my jet? It's not that hard to kill a heli, you just need to use everything at your disposal.

We will change our server to Large Conquest soon, on those maps there's the mobile AA so it will make it a bit more balanced, and more tactical. The normal conquest maps are too small with the mostly 3 capture points and less vehicles.
