Skyrim Thread

The guys at the mage collage, I found 2 in the basement. But I think one of the vendors sells the resipy for invisble potions.

Was going to skip the College of Winterhold since Im not really using Magic. Guess Ill just do the odd quest to get inside.

Warhammer now does a good 200 per hit,and 400 if berserker rage is on :D

I think this is brilliant. Here is a game two (1000...) people can play completely differently and still both have a complete experience.

Example: I hate Warhammers, Battle axes, great swords and Maces. I would choose a smaller one handed sword, dagger, war axe or bow over any of them even if it means sacrificing dps. Similarly, though they look cool, i dont like heavy armor I love my light armor and the freedom of movement it gives me. Yet at no point in either my or your game time do we feel that the game play is limited due to our choice of weapon/armor. Drawing parallels to Deus Ex, I often felt I was being punished for trying to play the game my way.

For all the bugs, weird glitches, totally random shit that happens in this game (NPC spawned in a back room, right in front of me, as I was about to slip some poor sods throat then walked silently out of the room. :wtf: ) I love this game & think its probably the one game that almost everybody can, and should, play.

How the crap do you successfully pick pocket someone without them alerting the guards? Even if my display shows I'm hidden, I still get caught as soon as I loot an item. What's ironic though is that you can 'browse' people's pockets all you want. It's only a crime when you remove an item.

Also, what's quite lol is that I dumped a bunch of books and items in the middle of Whiterun's street when I was overloaded. That was 3 days ago, each time I log or return to the city, the stuff is still lying there. Who needs a house and containers? :p

What level is your sneaking and pickpocketing. Personally never been caught pickpocketing.

If u have the double damage backstab gloves, does it go all the way up to x30 if u have the assassin's blade perk?

yes it does.

I dunno, havent tried it. Keepa says it does but 30X damage seems a little silly. I mean I snuck up behind a fully armored imperial and slit his throat with Blade of woe (which at epic level does I think hight in the thirties damage) now multiply that by 15 and u get 500 odd damage. About the only think u cant kill with a backstab is a dragon.

Geezus! Thats almost game breaking in my opinion. Especially if you have like narly enchantments on ur dagger.

Sneak attacking a dragon anyone?

The Assassin's Blade perk is the highest damage-modifying perk in the game, at 15x normal damage. If using the Shrouded Gloves provided to you by the dark brotherhood, this multiplier goes up to 30x, and with the this multiplier goes up to 30x, and with the One-handed perk Armsman maxed out, the damage goes up to 60x(although the game counts it as 30x of the base 2x). This damage can be improved even further by landing a critical strike, using a power attack, dual-wielding daggers or the Orc racial trait Berserker.

Quite interesting to see how high the multipliers... I'mma gank me some dragons. \:D/

Sadly though, in any of the mini dungeons I've been, I can never sneak close enough to anyone to use melee attacks. They always spot me a mile away, so I've mostly been leveling archery. It would be delightful to actually make use of sneak melee attacks at some point. :/

What perks do you have with sneaking? I wasn't very high with sneaking, but I had equipment to reduce amount of noise I made by 50%, that helped a lot, especially since I wear heavy armor, I could quickly and easily sneak up right behind someone.

When pickpocketing there is a percentage under the item description that shows the chance of pickpocketing that item.

Skill lvl 39: 25% detect reduction & I'm wearing elven boots of sneakiness (looted from a master lockpick chest \o/), but I can't seem to get close to anyone. :/

Hmmm, maybe get Muffled Movement next. Then when sneaking, make sure to "walk" and obviously sneak in the dark if you can, if someone hears you, if you can move without them noticing, move back a little then stay still then try again when they forget you.

What you can also do to level up your sneaking, is when you're doing some dungeons and fighting Draugr, if you see any Draugr who are "sleeping" in those sort of graves in the walls, you can sneak up to them and attack them for the extra damage and instant kill. I did this at a low level and leveled up my sneaking after almost every kill lol.

Oh sweet! I'll give that a 'bash'.

Apparently what also works is going into a shop with a single NPC, then placing a bucket over his head and sneaking around him. (Also works nicely for stealing items), but it's quite tricky manoeuvring items with an xbox controller.

I still do that, save them waking up when I use a shout on some of the end dungeon "bosses"

But thats cheating. :p

Is there a place where you can see your titles you have earned?

Don't you read character profiles? I'm a thief and a sneak! :D

j/k, haven't mastered moving items with the controller yet. Speaking of schneakinesssh, have you pulled off successful pickpocketing?

A few times, mostly quest related. I find it a little pointless. The NPC's often have few things I want.

While I am a thief, I am primarily a assassin and I have rules, no stealing shit off of NPC when u have 12K gold being the first of that. (I actually spent the most of that 12K yesterday upgrading equipment)

Titles, no such thing in Skyrim, has shitloads of them in Oblivion, but nothing here. You can however check your Achievements on Steam.
