The hand-wringing tweets and posts about the possible direction for BioWare's unannounced game have proven all for naught, as EA and BioWare announced the Frostbite 2.0 powered Command and Conquer: Generals 2 at tonight's VGAs. The game is set to release in 2013.

Update: We've got the official PR from Electronic Arts, found at the Source link below. Most notable is this line: "Command & Conquer Generals 2 is being developed by a new BioWare studio, BioWare Victory, and is coming exclusively to the PC in 2013." So Victory Games is now BioWare Victory and its plans for a PC-exclusive C&C game are still in place. Wow!

Not exactly the "New IP" They Promised but it I guess it could be worse I suppose. Glad its PC exclusive and not ported half assed to console.

it's still being done by John Van Cagenham's team over at victory games now just renamed Bioware Victory.

EA seems intent on using Biowares name to label Quality titles.

if they can pull it off, moolah will roll in
 
I do hope this game is good and is not a repeat of cnc4 :/
one line on the official page does scare me tho

i dont like the idea of having to pay for maps and more units/factions in an rts :/

Dude I am so amped to play as the gla again. I hope they kept the suicide bombers on bikes :D
Also I hope they add to the tech buildings. :D I am so amped.

But I am a little scared.
 
I think game developers should re-release older RTS games, such as Dawn of War(the real one, not DoW2), Rise of Nations(Rise of Legends doesn't count), Command and Conquer Generals;3 and Kane's Wrath. Those games were so much fun, turtling, creating massive armies and storming you enemy one by one.

I also loved the ages you could work through in Rise of Nations, always fun to dominate enemies with inferior technology :D
