Guild Wars 2

This game is all I have been waiting for.Screw the rest, everything leading up until GW2 gets released is distractions to keep me busy. One GW2 releases I will be in Tyria for a very very long time.Seeing as I spent 6 years in GW1.

Anybody here actually remember the guild MSSA?Or is is actually still running?

I was in it for like a week, then left :?

Haven't seen any other South African guilds ever...

I also feel the same way, all these other games is just keeping me busy while I wait for this. But, those games have issues : Battlefield 3 crash to desktop after map changes, and Im too afraid to play Skyrim with all these 100s of bugs that could break your game. I would rather just wait for a new patch that could MAYBE sort out lots of those.

These two buggy games makes me appreciate the fact that Anet is working harder than other companies to try to sort and get it as polished possible for launch, unlike the new norm one-day-patch BS.

@Magnar, maybe you're right; I would have just thought the game should be complete for them to start CB... and as was said in the reply just the dungeons are near completion.

@Spartan, I was in a SA guild that was under the MSSA alliance. Southern Warriors, Teppic Indica was guild leader, but I left because everything went quiet. At that time there were only a few left in the MSSA alliance that was active. (at least 2 years ago)

Ah Teppic.I remember him very well.We use to play together a lot.The days before all the sin nerfing took place.I was in MSSA a while, then moved to another guild also under the alliance. With Kitty.Faithful and Forgotten it was I think.Use to be very active on the guildwarsza site as well. The good old days.

To be honest. In recent times, no other game has made me utter the word "It will be worth the wait".Battlefield,MW3,Skyrim,Duke Nukem and the list goes on.All of them have been okish, but fails to actually keep my attention for too long.

But GW2.It WILL be worth the wait.If it is not I will eat my own face.

Cool I remember Kitty and Faithful too ;), one of them was the original guild leader of SW given over to Teppic, wonder if you were in the guild when I was there... I can vaguely remember a Spartan avatar name :P

Yeah GW2, oh GW2 ! Come on now! Lets not have this talk next year this time again :'(

Spartan Kenpachi.Played sin mostly.Aye yeah,Kitty left and started the new guild.I went with because MSSA was a bit political at the time.

ROFL yeah I remember you, you were in the guild, but left soon after I joined. So never knew the complete political story :P Still was a fun guild.

Hmm, just another note on the CB, Anet could employ a gating system in the beta where the completed areas are open for public participation whilst the incomplete areas get opened once they're ready for release and testing :? This might enable them to start CB if they're not as near completion as they say they are (or well, what we can deduce from what was said by them)

Well ... because you can understand why hundreds of people are busy raging at them to release the game already - they've basically been teasing us with releases for 3 years now - and frankly, I'm reaching a point where I'm suffering from MMO fatigue as a whole. Aion was supposed to tie me over until release, and guess what? I've gotten tired of Aion. So where to now?

All we have so far are assurances that they're trying to make the game as perfect as possible, but from our point of view they're basically just saying "We're letting it out when we feel like it because, screw you." They would have done themselves a service by only starting to release info this year. Right now all they're doing is pissing people off, and they'd be damned stupid not to realise it.

I prefer it when they release it when they are ready... far too many fail games this year :(

I've busied myself with Rift while waiting for GW2

"We're letting it out when we feel like it because, screw you."

Nope sorry huh-uh don't agree. Leave them be and let them release it when its ready. I already posted a comment about this on guru regarding the people who rage at them for trying to make a great game and not tying their development to a release date or what fans want them to do.

ArenaNet should just make the best game they can as complete as they can, then release it.

I can wait.

The problem I have is that they keep going back and redoing things. You know the Sylvari went through three iterations? One of them after they did the race reveal (I spoke with one of the reps at rAge - they were actually busy doing it at the time). Why do the damn reveal if they're not ready.

I'm not against them taking their time finishing the game, but they should have waited before they started releasing information and trailers. 2 - 3 years is a hell of a long time to string people along.

That's the biggest point I'm trying to make.

"We're letting it out when we feel like it because, screw you."

Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying that the phrase above represents ANet's attitude at all - I'm looking at it from the point of view of the prospective people they're trying to get interested in the game. And the people who have been waiting for it for ages.

I've got to agree with Shadowfox, I read up and watch the releases maybe once every 2 months or so. But other than that I keep my distance because I'd rather have the surprise message on a tweet or news site saying "Released this month!!!" than being constantly teased with nothing to play while we wait.

I just really hope that when we finally DO get to play the game, that it lives up to all the hype being generated. Because let's face it, they have become MASTER tacticians when it comes to building hype.

I placed it on pre-order a few months ago and forgotten about it. I'll get it when it's good and ready.

I'm going to get a total surprise when it comes to classes/gameplay. Not read up much on the game.

No, faithful Guild Wars 2 fans, this is not an illusion: The Mesmer is in the game, so stop rubbing your eyes and pinching your arms in disbelief.

To be honest, if ArenaNet had announced that the eighth and final profession for Guild Wars 2 was anything but the Mesmer, there would have been worldwide riots. Fortunately, such is not the case, as the studio confirmed in a brief tweet that the Mesmer would be the last addition to the class roster.

According to the tweet, the full reveal of the Mesmer was slated for Wednesday, but the CMs said that "someone jumped the gun" and let the information slip earlier than desired. Apparently GameReactor Denmark jumped the embargo and posted a video about the reveal (the video has since been removed from the site).

We'll be waiting for the official unveiling with bated breath!

hey look we all knew it :)

just nice to have confirmation :D

Well GW would not be complete without a Mesmer! They really must stop with the teasing now and give us final release dates instead!!! /mouthwaters
