Skyrim Thread

Ok cool... I think I'll wait for the latest patch before I start playing Skyrim. I installed it last night and checked out the first opening scene up to where the gameplay starts and the graphics looks great. It gave me a bit of a Witcher 2 feel for some reason.

Besides, waiting will give me time to finish Fallout NV with all the DLC (can't believe how much of the game I missed in my first playthrough).

I doubt i'll do another playthrough, doing the same quests again will just bore the hell out of me.

If only it was like The Witcher, where a different choice towards the end of the first chapter basically switches to an entirely different set of main quests, its almost like playing a new game.

I just started this last night.
Downloaded a whole bunch of mods last night, so looking forward to seeing it with those.
Yes, you know I got the nude bodies one :p
I doubt I'll give it more than one playthrough as well, if I get that far.

Why is everyone so fast to jump to mods in games these day's?

Don't know. The only mod I'm currently running is the one that adds arrows to smithing. I've tried various a couple of different models, but I removed them shortly after because there is always something off about them that irritates me.

Yeah, i wanted to play the game as its meant to be played :P
The only mod i use is the ore colour enhancer, it basically brightens the ore mine colour so i can see it easier, doesnt really work for ebony though.

Hmmm smithing arrows sounds cool, maybe just one more mod :P

Don't worry there are more to come alot more :D

Can't comment for Skyrim, but in Fallout NV, some 3rd party guys actually released mods / patches to make the game more stable (with reasonable success) as well as the high-res textures... although, from the intro I've seen of Skyrim, I doubt that high-res textures are needed. Anyway, if Bethesda doesn't ever fix Skyrim properly (like the Fallout games), some modders will probably end up doing it again.

One mod I think is truly helpful is the 0 weight crafting items mod. Yes, it is akin to "cheating" but in fact I just see it as a time saver as I don't have to run in and out of dungeons, juggling ore with my little helper friend (and God forbid I want to play a solo assassin who doesn't get sneak ruined by a loud clanking Lydia).

Other than that, graphical enhancement mods and UI mods are the flavour of the day. Nothing gamebreaking, I was keen to check out the ultra mod that adds alot of items to the game but I have played far too much Skyrim to consider another playthrough again anytime soon.

I did get a 0 crafting weight mod for Witcher 2 as there were no chests or storage spaces like Skyrim, and the weights of the wood, iron etc were crazy high. But i dont think its needed in Skyrim, part of the game is using your houses to do stuff. And theres plenty of chests around the map to store your stuff.

No man, dont use lockpicking mods. Its part of the game to break a million picks

I've sworn tons of times on expert locks when I'm THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS close and the fuggin thing snaps!

Anyway, just get the skeleton key in the thief guild quest. It doesn't break. \o/

Or you can all stop being baby's and learn how the lockpicking works. I have 99 picks on me all the time since well I brake only when it comes to expert and master locks.

I rob and steal all lockpicks available, yet I still never have enough. Don't spend any skill points on lockpicking either though, as this is a waste for my big-ass heavy armor wearing thug.
