Star Wars: The Old Republic

No serious issues here either. Only issue really I have is if I dc while busy with a pvp warzone, if I then relog I can't access the warzone button. Exit the game and relog fixes it, that's the only issue I really have.

ya... it is super sad.

I don't know why I am having these issues at all... it makes me want to cry and throw my pc through a pane of glass almost every day.

However, I have been speaking with customer support and managed to get the thing to update with yesterdays patch and it hasn't crashed since... it was a MOERSE workaround so things are looking up! I might just renew my sub... I played till 12:00 last night!

Hit level 36 and have gotten my 4th companion...

I like being evil

So I bought the game last week Wednesday and am struggling to download it...

Im on a 4mb uncapped from mweb and im getting the slowest speeds and it also keeps getting disconnected.

Is there anyone who is willing to let me come around with a 6 pack and a harddrive so that i can get the game files and finally start playing this game! :'(

Im in the Randburg, Jhb area!

Thankfully iv only experienced a handful of bugs, but the biggest 2 are related to performance.

I have a decent machine and this game looks, laughs and plays the cha cha all over it. The other issue is the random lag spikes, now when i mean lag spikes the game lags out and will sit there for the better part of 2minutes climbing to about 140 000ms before spending the next minute catching up to what happened around me. Thankfully WTFast does help but still occurs...

I play other online games and dont experience this issue, which makes me believe something is happening with their software.

But i still love this game too much, just wish i had more time to play

Which ISP are you using ? I'm with WebAfrica and have experienced the same thing with the lat spikes. Has been far better recently with spikes not climbing more than 600ms.

im using afrihost capped (unshaped), usually its very good. I normally play around 250ms and with wtf between 197 and 210

Been playing SWTOR for almost 2 months now and I realised something interesting today: I have yet to put Winamp on and listen to music while I play. I also have yet to turn the music off in SWTOR. Usually when I play an MMO I start listening to my own music after about 2 weeks, with SWTOR I have not yet felt the need.

Talking about music, doing the Balmorra missions the other night I stumbled into the Cantina and had to hack their sound system. Needless to say I sat down at the bar listening to the republic theme song :P

Yaaaaa.... so I un-subbed.

Got the Launcher working last week. Patch day yesterday and me and all my buddies who bought the game cannot get the game to patch.

EA can have other people's money from now on.

Wow, no idea how you and all your buddies have this problem! Maybe a bugged client? Most of us are working it fine, so there must be something your side wrong boet!

Nah

There are 10's and 20's of threads each with 10's of thousands of views and frustrated replies on the official forum so I am quite sure there is an issue with the patching method. What I was previously doing was looking at the logs at which files the launcher is becoming stuck at and manually downloading and extracting those into their respective paths. Even this does not work anymore.

I'm more over it than anything else. The game is AMAIZING but not worth the endless nights spent praying at an updating launcher :D

back to Battlefail 3 for me! XD

I think I have a theory for the patching thing, I suffer from the same. My ISP uses two ADSL lines and switches between them. In essence your IP address changes all the time, the patcher fails if the IP address changes in the patching. I always keep a copy of the client on the same drive and when the patcher fails, I copy the whole thing over again and I do this usually about 4-5 times till it goes through. It is a pain but yeah.

No issues with updates here either. Had a launch issue, but rebooting sorted that out.

I'm cancelling my subs though. Got 1 lvl 50, 1 lvl 26, and 3 lvl 10's ... loving the game, but it's consuming too much time (as any good MMO worth it's salt should.)

I'm definitely looking forward to resubbing again in the near future.

Got a level 50, 2x25, 1x30, 1x10 and 1x20, thats 6 characters ;-P. I am a hardened altaholic, the MMO I enjoyed the most of all the ones I have played, always CoX since it is an alters game. SWTOR comes close and I will be playing it for a while!

Don't get me wrong, SWTOR is THE perfect MMO for altoholics. It's that exact reason why I need to stop. Might be changing jobs soon so I need to get behind the books again to be on top of things.

I thought it might be my isp as well but the thing is the patcher always fails at either 0.03 megs remaining or 0.01 megs remaining...

It's highly improbably that my connection "fails" at this point, without fail, everytime I try and update...
