Diablo III - General Discussion Thread

Well according to Athene, given the amount of XP you need to get to paragon 100, and given a decent leveling rate of 1.5 million per hour, he calculates it would take you playing 10hrs a day for 2years to get to paragon 100. So I doubt this will make too much difference to the casual player who will no doubt get bored of the game long before then. :)

LOL - then again, how long did it take D2 players to get to level 99?

Hopefully with D3 we won't reach the point where the graphics become so dated in comparison to what the hardware can push out that you're put off by the look alone, which is why (I know, I know, how shallow of me) I stopped playing D2 eventually - it just looked so carp onscreen.

The refinements in the patch are most welcome - played last night and the ones that struck me most obviously were:

- long click on skills speed keys no longer accidently moves it off the skills bar
- Auction cancellations
- Auction descriptions on sold items

- Tomes, gems and potion now have a light blue text rather than white
- Drops are much better. Check out my the LOH that my 2-hander rolled last night!

I'm actually busy updating the game now. Almost can't believe I'm doing it, but what the heck. If item drops are improved, maybe I'll finish the game.

I believe the damage has already been done. The vast majority of the players have left the game for various reasons, and I doubt that this patch is sufficient to bring them back.

I fully agree with the other posters, who said that the game is still in development and we've actually only been playing the beta.

New patch is kick ass...3 legendary drops in 1 day and 1 sold for 60 Million.
A little to late though I think...
Hehe lucky, how much MF did you run with and also in which Act?

I was fooling around a bit in Act 2 and found boots which were an "upgrade", too bad the stat increases were: str+10, vit+15, RtA +2... lol an upgrade is an upgrade I guess. :)

240% MF with 5 Paragon levels, I don't gear swap so the mf is on my full dps gear.
Also dropped a 1 handed sword earlier, 922 dps, 180 dex, 34% Dmg, 590 LOH, Empty socket, sold instantly for 30m.

Wow, that's great luck Joker! :D

I was also quite lucky. Installed Diablo III again, played for about 2 hours and then the legendary witch doctor item dropped. It's in the auction house now and should make quite a bit of gold. Only one of four of these uniques in the auction house that has LOH. :)

It's actually fun playing again. It's the ideal game to fire up every now and then and I've got faith that Blizzard will keep on improving it.

It seems as if it's just me, but without high-level paragon the drops appear to be as scarce as ever!! I just played for two hours with full NV and only found one thing worth selling :( :(

For the first time in ages, I was actually able to use something I picked up. It was a strange feeling.

I played for a bit last night, was ok. Im in no rush to get stuck back in, got enough new stuff that I haven't finished 6X still to play.

I'm also getting back into it. I've been able to go with a more aggressive build with my barb because of the buffs they've done to the skills and I might finally be able to use a 2 hander because of how much better their stats are rolling now. I'd like to see the rare items given more affixes, so that it's not always looking for the same few stats on every item. I really want one of those new awesome legendaries.

Oh FFS - account blocked due to suspicious activity.

And just when I got around that 'Failed to update tools' bullshit.

I've actually been having fun with the game since the new patch. It's amazing how much decent drops can change the game. Whereas I'd get one Rare about every 4 hours, and it wouldn't even be usable, I've now got ten Rares on the AH and 12 more in my stash waiting to be sold.
