Erotic game "Seduce Me" booted-off Steam Greenlight

Whatever I'm out. You guys must be supper passionate about your porn and and seeing it plastered in every single avenue of life. I'll leave you to your ever expanding porn collections, which will soon include video games. Excuse me for having some morals which the porn addicts will continue to poke holes at.
Better yet why don't you all put your money where your mouth is and actually support this game which you all so desperately crave.

Before you threw the religion bomb, everyone else was kind of in agreement that this does not belong on Steam. Then somehow you dropped 50 Shades of Gandalf the Grey and likened it to pornography and how you'd like it to be taken out of bookstores. To each their own, man. I'd like to answer a knock on my door and not have to hear about someone wanting me to give my life to Jesus. I leave them alone, they leave me alone.

To get back to the point of this thread, the age verification on Steam leaves much to be desired and as such, this was the right decision by Valve. Something like this should not end up in the hands of minors. If people really want to play something like this, they can go the creator website and download it for themselves, like Graal mentioned.

If its jehovah witnesses just tell them you give and receive blood donations on a regular bases, that normally shuts them up quickly.

Like someone else said, paying by Credit Card usually means that an adult will need to get involved and as with anything the final responsibility lies with parents taking responsibility for their kids online antics. I will happily create a steam account for my (future) kids but when they want to buy anything they will need to come and ask me.

As I've said before we are at the point where most 1st generation gamers are having kids and as suck when these kids get older hopefully our experience with the system will help us better protect our kids.

This reminds me of that kid who spent all that money on Xbox Live a few months ago, which only got to his parents' attention way too late (this is just regarding using credit card payments). That is not foolproof, but I suppose it is better than nothing. Also, are kids are going to have it tough, we are the first generation of would-be parents who'll know how to check their browsing history :p

Sorry to burst your bubble but kids will still probably be one step ahead of you. :) You know what they say about motivation.

I actually saw a meme about it the other day, cant find it now, that pointed this out. I lolled hard at the thought.

I like to think I will be on par with my kids... at least for a while.

But your probably right, Chrome Incognito Mode anyone?

There are pics... Omega posted them a few pages back to prove his point....

He's just fishing for boobie pix.

I don't see why there was even a fuss made about the project being booted by Steam in the first place? (T&Cs ppl) Seems that most people are for responsible content provision within the right forum / method! We have a lot of sensibly censoring sensitive people.

But I still can't understand our wider accepting view of gratuitous violence? Do we all hide behind the vale of 'its just a game?' What's the major defining factor with respect to these two subjects porn/adult content vs. extreme violence?

Hehehe true that. Kids are strange creatures who are quite clever with things like that. Having said that, current generation people are also still quite in the loop with what is potting with the interwebs.

Chrome Incognito is no match for network traffic tracking tools. Side note: open Chrome Incognito and read the warnings that they give: something about this mode does not protect against people standing behind you lolololol

You are not wrong the sense that violence does fall under the same category as sex and nudity in gaming. Rating systems are there for a reason and measures to ensure that the right content gets pushed to the right ages should be improved. Simply clicking a button and choosing your own age is not going to cut it.

Kids also should not be exposed to violence or any other subject matter that falls outside their maturity group. That has also been insinuated earlier in this thread.

But if you are an adult and can deal with it, so be it...

Haha so it does.

I think if parents have any real smarts then incognito wouldn't fool them, for many though I am sure it will.

This. I was arguing that this crap shouldn't be on Steam up until God entered then thread. Then I gtfo.

I am pretty sure everybody was arguing this point until the G-Bomb landed.

I found the poster taking offence and 50 Shades much more amusing that Steam cockblocking "Seduce Me".

Highly amusing. If he gets offended by a book that contains some sex, wait until he/she sees the other 99% of the internet...or switches on his/her TV. That stuff is everywhere...
