What got me was how you where judging the game based solely on who published it, its like the people that refuse to play Assassin's Creed or Splinter Cell (even though they love the game) just because of the publisher (in those cases Ubisoft). I judge games on who developed them, I know that a Lionhead game will be over hyped but entertaining, a Bethesda (developer not publisher) will have bugs, Obsidian will make great games that suffer from their bugs, Bioware will have great story, Bungie will make a great FPS etc. Who forked out the capital to make the game (the publisher in most cases) doesn't effect my choice in game at all. And I find it narrow minded to limit you choice in game based on what amounts to a investor.

I never said I'd play or not play the game based on its developer/publisher, I said I had high hopes because I like Bethesda, and their track record has been great so far, for at least the last couple of years. This is an opinion going off of what I've seen so far. Are they perfect? No, but they're one of the better publishers in my opinion.

Edit: Even if what you're saying weren't completely ridiculous, I'd prefer backing something that is in turned backed by Bethesda because I want Bethesda to get more money so they can keep making/publishing great games, rather than say, EA, who just slap their brand name on anything regardless of quality. They have enough money already that it doesn't really matter, as long as as many people as possible lap it up (i.e. The Sims and its endless addons, FIFA, which is the same game every year just slightly tweaked, and so on).

Very few people see development houses and publishing houses as separate entities, as is evident in this thread. Publishers don't make anything (except bags and bags of money), they PUBLISH.

Different retailers have different pre-order deals. As far as I know most South African Retailers get the Arcane Assassin Pack. There is a Limited Edition Available here (UK) that gets a tarot deck but its only available from Game. Other than that nope, not as far as I know.
