Well my day just got worse.

-.-

/runs off to check exchange rates :D

/Does the same.

I have a doctor coming in to discuss the fact that R10 000 worth of his prosthetic goods where burned to shit by those striking fuckers - and the company is not offering insurance.

Just claim Force majeure; Force majeure (/ˌfɔrs/fors, /ˌfɔərs mɑːˈʒɜr/mah-zhur, or /məˈʒɜr/mə-zhur; French pronunciation: [fɔʁs maʒœʁ]) or vis major (Latin) "superior force", also known as força major (Catalan), cas fortuit (French) or casus fortuitus (Latin) "chance occurrence, unavoidable accident",[1] is a common clause in contracts that essentially frees both parties from liability or obligation when an extraordinary event or circumstance beyond the control of the parties, such as a war, strike, riot, crime, or an event described by the legal term act of God (such as hurricane, flooding, earthquake, volcanic eruption, etc.), prevents one or both parties from fulfilling their obligations under the contract.

Glad you see the humor in losing R25 million

There is something to do with insurance not being honored in cases like these , Our director sent an email out saying insurance will be honored - but now they've changed their minds.

Well I think the company needs to retrench those that went on strike to recoup the costs lost, then hire new guys with a lower rate. that should solve some of the problem :)

Doubt it would solve shit, those retrenched by that mine has continued to strike & cause kak. Also by retrenching the lot that rioting you are only pushing them into the waiting clutched of the radicalist like Julias. Strenthening his support and causing more people to vote for him in the next election.

I maintain they should just be executed. Remove the problem but hey.

I digress, i would build a special rocket and send those fcukers to the deepest parts of space, to be found by aliens an anal probed for the rest of their lives

Now that I can agree to! :D

Think retrenching and hiring new guys at a lower rate will only solve the problem momentarily as it won't be long before those lower rate new workers start striking too!

I think illegal protests and strikes should be made against the law and companies should be allowed to lay off those participating in strikes with immediate effect, and be able to press legal charges against those striking for damages. :D No tolerance approach will probably be the only way to stop strikes. If others can follow correct avenues, why cant those striking? This current approach just makes it too easy! Every year these people strike, come to some sort of 2 or 3 year deal, only to strike a couple of months or year later, demanding more all over. And it starts with one service industry, then all other services jump on that same bandwagon!

....well folks, that's me calling it a day! Hope you all have a good one and laters then!

Omegaboi...enjoy ur Dolly Parton! :D

Yeah but when you have a 2K to 10K work force walk out and you fire them you are making the unemployment problem worse and as we've seen in the recent weeks/Month these hooligans will just attack and even kill those who continue to do the job or is called in to cover the positions. A shooting at that mine was the government's one and only chance to snub this trend and they missed it. By making the cops out as the villains in the story they effectively destroyed any remaining fear the strikers had of the police. If they had instead said that the police will respond with Force to any acts of violence or aggression by the strike force they could have empowered the police to take firmer action (not necessary lethal) and in so doing deter further violent strikes.

Unfortunately the government don't care and they won't make the strikes illegal etc... It's bs and because of those tits our country is collapsing. When our country has no more money they'll blame the government but in actual fact it was their own fault for causing violence across the board and just being really really stupid...
