The fact that you made the post at all is what makes you an asshole and a coward. Some people have seen it, including friends of mine that alerted me to it. You're simply trying to drag my name through the mud because I blocked you, despite being entirely justified in doing so. If you're angry, PM me or something, don't try to make yourself look like a hero and make me look like the villain, and involve a bunch of people who don't care about your problems.

I can only assume whatever you said was unflattering, because Zoop, who was a friend of mine, said that he used to stick up for me, and will no longer do so. That means whatever you said was not only insulting to my character, but a lie as well. That's why you're scum.

No, here's what happened. I quite literally said the following: "You play Guild Wars?", to which you replied that you did, but have been playing other games in the meantime and that as a result, your player character was only level 17. I said that if you ever wanted help, I could help you out. You asked me what server I was on, and I told you it was Gunnar's Hold. You said you didn't want to leave whatever server you were on, and I told you that it wasn't permanent, you can change servers for a day or so, then go back to your old one. You ignored me at this point, completely and utterly.

The second time, I asked you how things were going with GW2. You ignored me completely and utterly.

Later on I asked you a question, which I now forget (I am not a paranoid lunatic, so I don't save all my Steam conversations), you answered, we parted ways, so that was fine.

The last time I asked you if you could help me with Dota 2, and you said you were jamming GW2. I don't have the slightest goddamn idea what "jamming" was supposed to mean, hence the "Hm?", which is clearly a question as to what you are talking about. You ignored me, so that was simply the straw that broke the camel's back. I decided to block you, since it seemed you didn't want me around anyway, and it was no skin off my nose, that's for goddamn sure.

Okay this one I love, because I blocked you right after I said I would. Correct me if I am wrong anyone, but doesn't Steam bring up a message saying something like "x is offline and unavailable" when the person you are trying to talk to is not online, or has blocked you? This can only mean you doctored the pic, since it's not only impossible (again, correct me if I'm wrong) for you to have sent that, but I never received it, even if it is. Did you fake the last part of that picture? That's a rhetorical question by the way ;)

As for anyone else, feel free to ask any of the people that have me as a contact in Steam what I'm really like, whether I'm even capable of acting the way this... person, is suggesting. Better yet, why don't you see for yourself?

I don't need this stupidity.

Edit: Oh and, might I just point out that the Steam Chat picture doesn't show delay between messages. It was a long time between "Hm?" and me deciding to block you. Little context goes a long way.

Also I find it funny how "busy jamming some gw2" is completely unclear, even while my Steam status says "Playing: Guild Wars 2" and yet "Hm?" is completely clear and is suppose to mean "I don't know what jamming means, please explain this to me.".

I can only assume whatever you said was unflattering, because Zoop, who was a friend of mine, said that he used to stick up for me, and will no longer do so. That means whatever you said was not only insulting to my character, but a lie as well. That's why you're scum.

The funny thing is I basically only posted that screenshot. I think you are doing all your own "unflattering", especially the way you continue to throw insults around. And yes I do take offence to someone calling me scum.
 
I'm not one to get involved in these kind of internet dramas (but I sure find them entertaining :p), but for fuck's sake. Chill out Whisper. I don't know you or anything, so don't take this the wrong way, but you need to calm down a bit. Smoke some weed or something ...

Yes, sorry for not being clued up on your "gaming vernacular", how silly of me. It could literally have meant anything as far as I knew.

Literally everyone else, whether they are from South Africa, the US, Spain or Bumfuck nowhere, knows what "Hm?" means.

anyway, If, as you say, you posted only the doctored screenshot, then all I can say is that people are willing to sell their dignity rather cheaply around here. How disappointing.

As for taking offense to people calling you scum: Might I suggest not acting like scum then?

Anyway, I'll willing to accept that it was just a misunderstanding and that you are sometimes rude for... whatever reason, I don't know how you ignoring people is supposed to be okay, but really, I'm tired of dumb arguments, so I can easily forgive all that.

But coming here and attempting to make my name mud? I'm really glad I blocked you, given what that says about you as a person.
 
Right, okay, so... this is happening.

I think, as lightly touched on by others, we kinda have confusion on both accounts.

Whisper is sensitive about the perception of being ignored - generally prefers curt responses, as well as indication when afk. This tends to, at times, lead to negative assumptions on her part.

She also comes across as very grumpy on the internet, though I still don't know if that's because she actually is by the time she's on the PC, or if she's just bad at translating her mood (or maybe it's an intentional and elaborate ruse, who knows?). Never met her in person.

That looks like at least part of the reason that caused this clash.

Unfortunately, I don't know mOnk for a pair of soggy biscuits, so I can't post on his behalf - but it seems a classic case of kindle meeting fire, really.

Personally, the posted pic didn't strike me as doctored - it reminds me of the numerous situations I've had with her in the past. I can't comment on how legit it is given this exact situation, because damnit I'm not captain picard and I'm not omnipresent.

You know the best way do deal with these kinda things? Surprising, really: Honestly. If you want her to leave you alone, tell her to bugger off, you won't suffer for it, and she hasn't struck me as one to go around spreading spite as a result, she seems able to roll with the insults, whatever they may be - as long as you're honest. Generally, it seems she has an issue with potential deception, over anything else.

The case of the lack of her misunderstanding the meaning of the colloquialism of "jamming", mixed with mOnk's likely misunderstanding of "hmm?" (which I misunderstood as well, seeing that pic, tbh), kinda led to... well.. this.

So, yeah. Honestly. Let it out, and leave it at sour ends if it comes to that.

I actually have no idea if mOnk simply didn't reply because he was otherwise busy with games - people get absorbed, or was ignoring her. Whisper, you may want to accept that sometimes, people ARE too absorbed in what they are doing to allow for a prompt response, and by extension may forget all together. And by extension, your reaction is also what may drive some people away.

mOnk, as you've admitted - bringing this to the forums was probably an overeaction. A tad silly, considering how the internet works, and escalates.

I'm not really bothered where this ends up, since it seems a win-win for you two regardless.

Spot on mate, honestly this could have all be avoided if monk didn't post this (I'm not taking side's here) Whisper doesn't seem like the person that jumps to A forum and posts thread's like this (but then again I don't know her at all)

To be fair, I didn't say I won't stick up for you again, only that the post was insightful, and I apologize because I did make an assessment of the situation without hearing your side first. As you said, having the time on the messages would have helped a lot here. I still feel entirely justified in sticking up for you in the GW2 thread, and in general I really enjoy your posts, both here and on the NAG forums. You can be a bit brash at times, but it's nice to have someone around who speaks whatever's on their mind and, like me, has no qualms about being cynical about games other people love.

As Kharrak said though, I think this was just a misunderstanding between the two parties involved. This has happened to me a lot in the past as well, where I'd get a message while playing a game and I'm busy with something in particular so I decide to respond in a few seconds, then forget entirely. This is especially true in an MMO, where you can't pause the game, especially not when you're in combat or busy with a group activity. My solution to it is to simply set my Steam status to offline mode whenever I start to play a game, although I was kinda forced into this after I started administrating the DayZ server for NAG and my Steam Chat turned into a tech-support hotline for all the local DayZ players. :p
 
Quite an elaborate analysis there, Kharrak. A little bit unnecessary though, as I think this might only be one big ruse (like a smoke bomb distraction) in preparation for them to execute their plan to take over the MyGaming forum!
