Logitech G9x Discontinued:?

To start off guess Ill say I have always trusted the logitech mouses and always been a huge fan. Having a g9 last for so long is really awesome and tried to replace it over the years but keep going back to it.

I see now though that logitech has discontinued the g9/g9x series and does not seem like they are working on new developments for it:(. They say they have replaced it with the g700 which to me is nothing similar to the g9x?

The question now is do I go and buy some of the last of the g9x stock that is lying around and should there ever be a problem they will replace it with something else under warranty(heard they don't manufacture the g9x and they are pretty much out of stock of them now aswell, so they usually send you a g700 to what I have seen on several forums). I'm just worried that I buy the mouse I love for so many $$$ and they replace it one day with a crappy g700 that doesnt feel as comfortable.

What would you guys do? buy another mouse now and get used to it before it gets too far down the line or buy the last of the stock and hope they last forever :D

Any suggestions for alternatives to the g9x? grrr. damn you logitech!!!!

Time for something new I think.
I've been using a Gigabyte Krypton for a couple of days now and it is utterly brilliant.
Possibly the best mouse I have ever used...The software is stunning unlike anything from Razer and its also a damn good looking mouse.

just want to find out did you ever use the gigabyte ghost m8000x mouse? could you perhaps compare them at all because the m8000x to me was a horrid mouse, loved it for the first month then it just suddenly got worse, sensor tracking issues, the comfort just wasnt as good as the g9/g9x to me, overall it wasnt a bad mouse, still better than most but just have a horrible taste in my mouth from the previous gigabyte accesories.

Its in a completely different league, I am with you that the M8000X is a very uncomfortable mouse.
I don't like spending money on high end mice and keyboards but in all honesty I would be willing to pay even more for the krypton, its that good.

I paid R705 inc vat which is cost price.
They retail for R750+

Well worth it.

Sheesh, that is a great price.. Although, I did promise myself that my next mouse would be a Roccat to take advantage of the Talk feature with my Isku. CONFUSION!!

My G9x broke under warranty recently and Logitech sent me a G600 as a replacement. I am satisfied with it, it's a good comfy mouse.

will definitely check out the gigabyte mouse then, pity there is no kind of place that would allow you to take a test mouse for say 3 days just to see if it is any good.

Pooky, glad you like it and happy, I must be honest if they gave me that though I would chuck it in the bin or something cos that doesn't look like my kind of mouse.

Is it the buttons? I was skeptical at first but I have actually found use for them.

yea it must be mostly the buttons, and the bit off to the right of the mouse looks a bit different. But I guess I can't knock it till I try it. Does it only come in white?

No I would have hated the white one. I have a black one.

The bit off to the right is another button that does take some time to get used to, but I reckon it's pretty comfy.

I wouldn't say the mouse was my first choice, but I think it's a nice replacement.

oh I see, now that I look at pictures and I know that is an extra button, the mouse now makes sense and what they were going for there. Actually could see how that could be very useful, will take a bit of getting used to a 4th button there and using my pinky. But it looks like its for the palm mouse users? I'm a claw grip type person.

Me too with the claw grip but yes I would say it's definitely more comfortable with a more palm style grip.

Just buy Yourself the G400 from logitech and you can thank me later. Best mouse for FPS ive ever had the privileged of playing with
