League of Legends

To be honest watching pro streams really help.

At first you think... Jeez that's overkill items.
Then especially as AP you think how do they cope with that early game set.

But when you give it a spin your game changes from random pub player to that guy that goes 15/0/x sometimes.

I learned to play a 200 cs Irelia exclusively from watching Wickd play and trying his style.
Nasus from Darius i think.
For mid Ocelot and Xpeke. Xpeke plays a mean Kha'zix.

When I'm cooking or doing arb things I put up a pro stream and learn.

On that guide, looks like boots 3 and the self heal should keep you toped up during laning phase, maybe too much spam?

I'd love to watch a pro player play Kha'zix atm all I've been doing is reading build guides on him. Where do you get the pro player streams from? Twitch tv?

Yeah I think I was spamming way to much. They kept ganking me. I was also underfarmed ( like ~60 creeps farmed at 20 minutes) I made a nice comeback from 0/4/1 and ended 6/5/11 with 130 creep kills.

I gave LoL a try, but honestly I just feel like Dota2 trumps it in all aspects. I will try to avoid making this a whole LoL vs Dota2 vs HoN rage thread, but even when watching the live streams on twitch, I prefer Dota2. Somehow LoL always gets the most viewers though, which is highly annoying, being a competitive Dota player myself.

Yeah I watch twitch.

60cs at 20 minutes is hectic low.
Try to focus on the last hits early game more.

If you do the math and go for 120cs at 20 you'll have had double the gold.
That's a big game changer.

I enjoy both LoL and Dota2
HoN fell away for me when Dota2 launch.
LoL and D2 are completely different. They have a massively different hero pool and meta game and can't really be compared.

It's more popular than Dota 2 , hence the high number of viewers.

I do agree that Dota is better in most of the aspects, but remember LoL wasn't meant to be as hyper-competitive as Dota, but to appeal to a much wider community who want to take things easy and casually. It's a much friendlier solution to newcomers.

Yeah I know its low >_< but its only because I was being harassed like shit... :p

I played some Dota 2 and I didn't like it that much... I like the fast paced pace of LoL more than DotA/HoN

My net is back up (allegedly) add me, glacieredpyro and Ill play some games with you

Only played some bot games at the weekend.
Was playing with a friend that doesn't enjoy PvP.

I've played LoL for years and to this day I have never fired up a bot game. I've never understood why someone would want to play against AI in a PvP game... except when they aren't very good and don't like to get owned.

Btw before my mobo blew I played a bit with Zac... He's actually quite good... But I just can't get a role for him... I tried tank but it didn't work for me. Some people said he's a good support but I don't know about that one. What do you think is a good role for Zac?

Zac is mainly played as a jungler since his E is so damn ridiculous when maxed out, making his ganks very strong. He can also go top lane.

Some people don't enjoy getting harassed tbh.
There are a host of people that don't play anything but bot games.

They get to enjoy the game without having to rely on others.
It essentially removes feeders, ragers, afkers, whiners everything.
If they are on your team in a bot game.. so what, you can carry it with a AD Soraka.

Bot games are so easy what's the point.

I know I shouldn't feed trolling but are you actually kidding me?
That's like me saying why do people not all become physicists it's so easy.

Get some perspective.
People have different skill levels.
People enjoy different things.

Simple as that.

I'm not trolling, but I think you have to have a serious problem to find bot games at all challenging.

I just don't see the point, it's REALLY REALLY easy. The matchmaking system generally will place you with people of your own skill level.

Go ahead and play bot games though, I don't mind, just voicing my opinion. You don't need to have such a strong reaction.

Whenever I try out a new champion I first play a game or 2 against bots. But recently I've been playing 1vs1 against mielies44 to learn new champs.

I have a strong reaction because you are doing nothing short of insulting some of my friends.
Even I that enjoy playing ranked still enjoy bot games. They are a great way to test a new champ without feeding.
I'll play jungle and make sure I hold the balance in our favor or get my friends fed so they can steamroll.
In the end it's about having fun.

Matchmaking is barely balanced.
If you matchmake with a friend then your likely to get people that are lvl 25+ in a group of <10 just because two are grouped.
That's not balance. Matchmaking is only balanced at 30 and ranked.

Also judging by your comments I assume you are extremely good at every single game you play so I best not argue with you.

I agree with both of you guys here, but I mostly agree with Pooky. I understand that people play games for different reasons, but it's a bit perplexing that people take a game that is designed for competitive play and essentially try to remove the competitive aspect of it. Heck, for me the competitive part is the fun part. Why play a difficult game if you want an easy win? If I want to play something easy that doesn't rely on other people I fire up any of my other single player games (like Rayman: Origins or Farcry 3) and play that.

And yes, you do have some valid arguments Glacier. People going AFK can be a problem but everything else can be dealt with by using the mute button, especially with the new ping system. Heck, even though I'm climbing through Silver rank you still get complete retards and jerks. I give them one chance then I tell them "That's not constructive in any way so I'm muting you" and I get to play the game unhindered by their dickish behaviour.
