A listing for Mirror’s Edge 2 has appeared on Amazon Germany. Listed for Xbox 360 (but with mocked-up box art that appears to indicate an Xbox One release), the game has a placeholder price of €99.99 (equivalent to roughly $130) and does not indicate any kind of release date.

Back at E3 2011, EA Labels president Frank Gibeau indicated that Mirror’s Edge 2 could happen using the Frostbite 2 engine. Gibeau said the publisher was “still considering” the title in July 2012, and DICE executive producer Patrick Bach told IGN in August that Mirror’s Edge is “too good to kill.”

For now, nothing about Mirror’s Edge 2 has been confirmed, but if it’s actually happening you can expect to hear about it at EA’s E3 2013 press conference on Monday, June 10th at 1:00 p.m. Pacific.

Sounds like quite a few games are creeping up to use the Frostbite 2 engine. Need for Speed, CnC Generals & now Mirror's Edge 2 (maybe). Could be interesting, I enjoyed Mirror's Edge purely because it was different (terrible story though)

Seems some people are deceived about the Frostbite engine. The (not yet) "Frostbite" engine was released with the then Mirrors Edge(1) game, which was the stepping stone for the Frostbite engine we see today. DICE was quite clever implementing it into one of their new titles, testing it out before releasing the first Frostbite 1.0 engine for Bad Company. Compare the engine in Mirrors Edge to lets say BF3 and you'll see the similarities and also the improvement on it since Mirrors Edge release. :) It's interesting that in that Amazon listing they report that it will used the Frostbite 2.0 engine. I really can't see them using the older Frostbite engine, unless it has been in development for quite some time.

That's possibly true. Whenever I read about a game using the frostbite 2 engine, I immediately associate it with Battlefield 3. Much like when I first read about CnC Generals 2, I was confused how it was going to use an engine seemingly developed for a FPS.

Mirrors Edge used Unreal Engine 3.

mirror's edge used Unreal Engine 3 !!!! what you on about ?

I enjoyed the first Mirror's Edge for a while, but damn it, it got frustrating a few hours in. The control scheme wasn't exactly to my liking. The Assassin's Creed series does parkour better, imo.

Much as I like the Assassin's Creed Series, I wouldn't say it does parkour better at all. The game basically does everything for you, you just hold down the buttons.

Well, depends on what your definition of better is. :)

But I see where you're coming from. Mirror's Edge: parkour simulator. Assassin's Creed: action adventure with parkour thrown in as a gimmick.

This comic sums it up perfectly:

I want to get excited for this, but I'm very hesitant. The last time this game came under discussion from EA, two very scary words were thrown about. "Broader audience." As much as I'd like more people to play ME, I just don't see how they can pander this to a broader audience without ruining what it was that made the original ME so good.

I have yet to play Mirror's Edge.

Same here. I bought the game....iirc :wtf: Doesn't matter, point is, I've got it in my inventory. Haven't played it yet.

We can never be friends.

EA is going to screw it up, for sure.

I must say that I really enjoyed the first Mirrors Edge. I hope that they don't mess up ME2 too badly.

I didn't enjoy the gameplay in Mirror's Edge - I couldn't get used to the first person platforming. The whole time I was playing it I was screaming out for a 3rd-person view so I could get the timing right.

The game-world and art direction and concept were very intriguing though.

I wonder if it will have Oculus Rift support?

I just simply was never able to get my hands on a copy of the game.
