Your Gaming Audio Setup

Well howdy,

I've decided to start this thread to see what audio gear people are using. We can use this thread to discuss different gear, headphones and amps, speakers, headsets etc.

It's good to hear people's thoughts on the different gear and how it has benefited them with their gaming.

I'll start. My setup may seem quite overboard for gaming but I do use it for studio work as well. The headphones are used for monitoring so the response is quite flat which is extremely helpful in Battlefield 3. The explosions aren't too loud and I am able to pickup any and all footsteps and from what direction as well.

Monitors - Alesis M1 Active MKII

Jesus Christ!

Your opponents in Battlefield must hear how gay they are and how you slept with their sisters, in excellent quality!!!

Hahaha that's exactly what they hear. Those headphones are phenomenal. Especially since I swapped an old Logitech 5.1 speaker setup for them.

my set ups quite regular except for my sound card.

Line 6 UX1

oh ya I have a pair of sennheiser HD something something(cant remember the number now) headphones. amazing ear comfort!

Do you prefer using speakers when you game? Those are nice headphones though. I demoed them once in a store and was quite happy with them.

I have a set of Corsair Vengeance 2000 for gaming and the pioneers for music and movies.
Speakers...I used to love having speakers but neighbours complained lol

My Gaming setup currently uses Logitech 2.1 speakers, really kak, but I usually game with my webcam's mic and my Technics DJ1210 earphones.... They are the shizz...

For my 5.1 pleasure - there's this:

My Stereo Set:
Got it from a friend some time ago.
They're a decent set. I would like more bass though.

Hey does anyone have this same quirk as me?
When wearing headphones one ear must always be free to also hear my real life surroundings.

Anyone?

Yep add me to the X530 list as well (Wall-E :))
Headset is the

Na not me. I need the immersion. BF3, the Arma series, Dirt series. I love being immersed and I don't take the headphones off.

Are you a fan of the CM Storm headsets? I find the cups too small as I have stretchers in my ears (first world white person problems)

Yeah I am, this is the only one I have used, haven't used the other Sirius (I think thats the name) as in real life I wouldn't pay more than R200 on a headset. Took me a while to get used to the weight difference though compared to my previous XGR elcheapos.

Does it get heavy after long gaming sessions? That's something I can't have in a headset.

No, its heavy at first when you put them on, but you start getting used to them each session so you end up not really noticing the weight. Thats what I found at least.
