Coffee drinkers unite

You can scoop those out you know, unless you need the extra protein

I know, everytime I make a cup of coffee there is at least 1 ant in my cup. Hahaha I didn't know they were loaded with protein. Might be useful since I do gym now :D

So, in light of the fact that I drink so much coffee every day, I'm trying to cut down on the amount of sugar I have in my coffee - ultimately to zero.

It would seem that I've been brewing my coffee to be too bitter, hence the need to add sugar. Brew it for 45 seconds less in the french press, and it tastes great. Don't need more than half a spoon of sugar now, and I can see that falling to zero.

I have only ever partaken of sugarless coffee by default. It's never been yuck. But it wouldn't be a choice just yet.

I am also trying to reduce my sugar intake in my coffee's to zero. I used to add 5 teaspoons of sugar, then 4, now I am down to 1 teaspoon of sugar.

My wife got this for her birthday from her parents:D

Now we have to go buy some beans and try it out! Any brands or flavours worth a try?

I know there was a coffee bean shop in Brooklyn Square, not sure if it is still there. Will check tomorrow. Where else can one buy coffee beans?

I have that same bean grinder :-)

You can buy coffee beans from the coffee isle in pretty much any supermarket.

House of Coffee's VIP gold makes my day. I bought a shitty plunger and started indulging.

I have the utmost respect for Frisco and Ricoffy which got me through poverty but now I crave something filtered and brewed

Well I like those Starbucks coffee bean blends, otherwise I go for what smells good.

Edit

Sweet liquid cocaine, back on campus and my lovely Tribecha coffee

...but most of them taste like crap. See if you can get hold of Avanti coffee beans, they are to die for!

There's usually some that are decent at least, just avoid the no-name house brands. I sometimes to to the Food Lovers Market (Fruit and Veg City), and they have barrels of the beans on display, and I grab a couple of scoops of the ones that smell the best

That VIP gold is quite lekker, that and the HoC Italian are my everyday coffees. The VIP Gold is medium roast so it's not always strong enough.

I drank Frisco for a good few years, and it seemed fine at the time. Now though, I just smell the Chicory and it puts me off

Any of you try that Nestle Coffee Green blend?I had a cup this morning of it and it was quite nice.

If any of you guys are in JHB, stop in at Doubleshot roastery in Braamfontein. The guy who runs the place is super-knowledgeable about coffee, and also happens to roast some AWESOME beans.

The good stuff I have comes from there :p
