HD 4890 selling at R2650

I have checked other stores and they're still trading at 3.2k - 3.7k
There's been a massive price drop on all ATI products in America though, so maybe the shop I mentioned above just got new stock.

wantitall might have best pricing then.

I already checked. Cheapest is R3k, Powercolor HD4890. And Powercolor is apparently quite an untrustworthy brand; bad cooling and warranty. But the mark-up on Wantitall.co.za is insane, so I think the best chance is buying from a shop that specialises in hardware in particular.

PCZone @ R2499

Hi

If you live in Kzn, PC Zone (http://www.zones.co.za/) is selling the XFX HD4890 at R2499.00
They are only receiving their stock next week thou.

Counting down the minutes..

I wonder if something big is on its way for the prices to drop so suddenty..

Woah! And its XFX! Not common to see that model go for cheap. What a bargain.

I doubt the price drop is an indication that something new is coming. I believe that ATI wanted to finalise the HD4890 vs GTX275 and HD4870 vs GTX260 debate with a final attack that nVidia can't match: incredible value.

There is something coming, but only in September.

ATi will be launching its DX 11 40nm when Windows 7 drops. Nvidia is expected to release its DX11 chips a month or two later.

Hey guys.

You can pick up some great deals at www.pcinternational.co.za

Sapphire HD 4870 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E DVI-I / TVO HDMI (Vapor X Cool) R 2,506 incl.
Sapphire HD 4890 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E DVI-I / TVO HDMI (Vapor X Cool) R 2,506 incl.

Bought myself the Sapphire 4890 1Gb about 2 months back for R2700. Best purchase I've made this year. I highly doubt you will find cheaper anywhere else. And yes these are *NEW* and not off the back of a truck lol.
