Lol,do you have a large number of guests?

I hope you and the bride leave before the night/reception is over, cause that's what traditionally happens. After all the speeches, eating and photos and dancing, the bride and groom are whisked away to go on their honeymoon/home.

Morning Guys, Very sad day today for us, we lost our baby last night due to an umbilical cord problem.

Life just fucking sucks sometimes.

I don't know what to say to you. My condolences and my thoughts are with you and your wife and family *hugs*

You do know that you're supposed to buy your bride a wedding gift, right? Traditionally, it is jewelry and I'm not talking about the wedding ring.
I'm just asking because few guys seem know about this tradition.
first I hear of it..... :wtf:

do I get a wedding present from her?

*GASPS!!*

NO...! SO sorry for your loss, my friend! Can't begin to imagine how you must be feeling.

do I get a wedding present from her?

Usually, yes.
I didn't know of the custom but Mrs 44 made sure I knew before our wedding.
About a year later I was best man at a friend's wedding and the day before I asked him what he got his wife to be. He looked at me semi-panicked because he didn't know about it and didn't want to ask her about it (it being the day before the wedding and all). So I went with him and we got her earrings. And guess what? When they got out at the reception hall, just before they entered the reception, his bride pulled out a brand new watch for him. He had the earrings, and all was well. I still don't need to buy beer when I visit him.

I suggest you ask your wife-to-be if she wants to hold with this tradition or not beforehand. The last thing you want on the wedding day is for her to give you a gift and you have nothing to return. Even better is to not mention it and get her something anyway. If she bought you something, no problems. If she didn't, she'll think you are the most romantic, wonderful man in the world for at least a few months.
