Thread Killer Mk IX

yeah but this TK thread basically means that people without any work can simply sit all day and spam without contributing anything meaningful to the forum

I think by now everyone in the TK has mentioned this at least once in their TK lifetime, but I'll repeat it, there is a huge misconception about what happens in the TK, it may contain spam, but it is not a dedicated spam thread. Some of us get advice from this thread, recount interesting stories, talk about gaming sessions, we rant about all sorts of things (geek-related or not), sometimes we get quick opinions on games from members we've gotten to know (I learnt about Mass Effect in the 2nd or 3rd iteration of TK, and I tried to get people to play Fall of Cybertron... I failed :o).

We organize mygaming meet and greets (we had one @ rAge, one @syconoobs place, and Wyv organizes her very own), the list of community building activity goes on. So essentially, this IMO, is an important thread, even if it may not seem that way at face value, and to exclude it would not be done in good faith, and James has pretty much said this, apart from the fact he actually can't exclude a single thread. On top of that, the top lists are comprised of some TK members and other forum members, it's never a TK infested (for lack of a better word) list.

@Saint_Dee : Well spoken, i stand corrected and hereby celebrate the glorious chaos that is the TK thread :-)

I wanted to give you rep but it says i have to spread it around first :-(

I just noted an interesting thread by a user I will not name, I was about to post a sincere response, because I kind of think it would be interesting to see how the forum members genuinely perceive themselves, until I saw his/her self-perception :/

No worries, the thought counts :p

I for one have found that some of the most meaningful experiences I've had on the forum have been in TK. Ya there's lots of kak talk, but there is a solid sense of community and proper conversations spring up all the time. And more than anywhere else on the forum, I actually feel like I know people here a little bit

i chose to unsubscribe but the minute i reposted, it resubscribed. lemme go fidget with settings to see how to exclude this specific thread from email notifications

Go to your user CP (control panel), on the left side, find General Settings, under Messaging and Notification you'll find Default Thread Subscription Mode, change that mode to "Do not subscribe" or "through my control panel only"

Everyone knows that if you try to surreptitiously infiltrate something, you'll be picked out cause you look surreptitious. Rather just walk in like you belong!

Had to google what surreptitious means :p. Thanks for the tip. So how's y'all's day been :D.

Thanks for giving me my word of today! Surreptitious

Going to somehow try to make this part of my vocabulary. Never heard of this word till today!

:O

You haven't heard of surreptitious? It's not THAT surreptitious :D

But I'm glad the resident grammar-nazi (aside from Mr. 44 and Eugene) was able to add a word to your vocabulary!
